Internet Marketing Tips – Building Your Sales Funnel

One of the things that Internet marketers who create their own products don’t understand is that they need to think of the future and build their sales funnel. In other words, the first product you sell to your list as you build it, shouldn’t be your be all and end all product. If it is, then you have nothing to sell them down the road. In this article I’m going to explain, by example, how to build your sales funnel so that you’re making sales for months or maybe years to come.

The first step is to create a very brief report on some topic related to your niche. Let’s say it’s the make money niche. You can start off with a report that explains the basics of starting a business and even creating a business plan. What you do is give it away, that’s right, give it away, in return for people opting into your list.

The next step, once you have gotten them onto your list, is to supply them with some great content related to your niche. Mixed in with the content, you might want to offer them a product that is a step up from the free report that you gave to them. This could be a product on maybe one aspect of making money. You could sell it for a small amount of maybe $7 to $17. Once the person purchases this “entry level” product, you would then have them sign up for a different list, thus unsubscribing them from the non buyers list. From this list, you would then move on to the next stage.

The next stage is to give them some more good content, but then down the road you would offer them the chance to purchase another one of your products. This one might be a little more advanced. The sale price could be anywhere from $27 to $67 depending on how much information was in it. Again, when a sale was made, you’d move this person from this list to another list. You’ll probably want to offer them some free gifts in order to do this. You always have to give somebody some incentive to opt into your next list in the progression.

You would continue to do this until you reached the point where you were offering these people products that are in the upper end. You could even offer these people seminars to attend if you choose to go that route.

The point is, you want to keep your list juiced and always ready for your next product. This is the way you do it, always thinking about the next product in the funnel.

Try it sometime. You might be surprised at the results.
