Internet Marketing Tips – Cashing in on Misspellings
Filed under: Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money Online; Tagged as: internet marketing strategies, internet marketing strategy, strategic internet marketingNo CommentsWith all the complaining I do about the fact that so many people can’t spell, maybe I should be thankful for these people. Were it not for them, cashing in on misspellings wouldn’t be a great tactic for making a few extra bucks online. In this article, I’m going to go over a great way to do just that. It’s effective and can be done at minimal cost.
At the top of my list is cashing in on domain name misspellings. Let’s say somebody is looking up the web site bluewidgets dot com but instead they type in bluewigets dot com, leaving out the “d” in bluewidgets. The first thing you need to do, of course, is grab that domain name. Lots of misspellings are still available. But just getting the domain itself is only the start of the process.
In order to monetize that domain, you need to look at the original domain to see what it is that people are looking to find there. What kind of product is it? Is it something that people have to spend money on? At the very least, does it have relevant AdSense ads that you can make some money off of? There needs to be a clearly visible way on the web site to make money. Otherwise, you’re probably going through this exercise for nothing.
Then, what you need to do is put content on YOUR site the compliments the kind of content that one would find on the site they were actually looking for. Do NOT steal any of the site’s content. Think of your own related way to make money from the site you’re putting together. One thing you might want to put at the top of your page is a message that reads “Looking For Bluewidgets dot com? Check out what I have to offer before you get on your way.” If you put together a good site with relevant info to what the prospect is searching for, you have a good shot at making a few sales.
You can do the above at the cost of hosting and a domain, which is roughly about $70 a year. If you land a great misspelling, you can easily triple that in income monthly.
It’s certainly something to consider in your arsenal of income generation tactics.
To YOUR Success,
