Internet Marketing Tips – Choosing A Title For Your Product
Filed under: Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money Online, Product Creation; Tagged as: create ebook, create ebooks, ebook creation, how to write an ebook, Product CreationNo CommentsIf you’re into product creation, one of the main things you need to do is create a title for your product, especially if it’s an info product. The problem with doing this is that you can either go too cookie cutter or so off in left field that people don’t know what you’re selling. This article is going to explore the world of info product title creation so you can get a better feel for how to go about it.
If you’ve been into marketing for any length of time, or just on the Internet at all, you’ve run across many titles. Some have struck your fancy while others have left you stone cold dead. So what makes a good title? Is it something you just stumble upon, or is there a science to it? Well, it’s a little of both. You need to have inspiration but a way to go about getting it wouldn’t hurt. Problem is, how do you get inspiration?
The easiest way to get inspired is to simply look and see what’s out there. Take the latest info book Income 4 Idiots. Now, it is quite obvious that this book title was derived from all those books for idiots that have been out for countless years now. They’re all big sellers and people love them. So this person simply tried to ride the coattails of this wave. But was he too late? Is this a worn fad? I have no way of knowing because I’m not privy to his sales figures. But when you latch onto something that is well established, you always run the risk of people saying that you’re a “me too” product. So keep this in mind if you decide to use an established idea to sell your book.
You could try something new and cutting edge. Not too long ago, there was a book that came out called “Day Job Killer”. The book was really nothing more than a book on Adwords, but because of the title, it sold like crazy. The title gives the potential buyer the idea that if he buys this book he’ll be able to quit his day job. This was brilliant marketing on the part of the author as the book title had nothing to do with the subject matter, Adwords, and yet created visions of financial independence. Keep in mind, if you’re going to try titles like these, you better have the content to back them up or you’re going to get tons of refunds.
Choosing a title isn’t easy. But whatever title you choose, you want it to invoke some kind of emotion. The last thing you want is a title that lays there flat. Those will never see any significant sales. So be creative. Look and see what’s out there and put your own spin on it.
