Internet Marketing Tips – Danger Will Robinson
No CommentsI used to love “Lost In Space.” I especially loved the robot with his “warning, warning” and “danger Will Robinson.” Well, let me tell you, when it comes to Internet marketing, there are plenty of dangers and sadly, not enough warnings against them. This article is going to discuss just a few of the many dangers that you will run into as an Internet marketer.
You can pretty much take your pick, but one of my favorite dangers is researching. As an Internet marketer, you’re constantly researching things such as niches, marketing tactics and so on. Well, like it or not, there are a number of sites out there that present one of two dangers. The one isn’t as dangerous as the other. I’m referring to sites with bogus information. This ultimately leads to wasted time and possibly using tactics that are not going to bring any results.
But the real danger lies in the fact that many site owners are just plain evil. They’ll load up their sites with Trojans and other viruses and then once you’ve landed there, unless you’re protected, you’re toast. Trust me, I am speaking from experience. The last time (and I was protected with Kaspersky) I had to do a system restore. It was not fun.
Another danger of Internet marketing is putting all your eggs into one basket. This can be anything from relying on one product to make you money to using just one payment processor to collect payments. Imagine you’re using PayPal, like so many do, and suddenly they shut down your account. I know you’ve heard the horror stories. Everybody has. And while you think it’s not going to happen to you, it can. Ask the others who thought the same thing. Never put all your eggs into one basket.
Finally, there is listening to the wrong people. Everybody has an opinion about how you should run your business. And way too many times, we listen to a person because maybe they have a lot of forum posts or they have a radio show or a lot of videos. It’s easy enough for anybody to pretend to be something that they’re not. Before you get mixed up with anybody, do your research on them first.
Just make sure your PC is protected before you start out.
