Internet Marketing Tips – Dealing With the Unpleasant Side

Internet marketing is great. I’ve been at it for over six years. As a matter of fact, January 1, 2009 I started my seventh year online. I am quite successful and really enjoy it. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t some things that are less than pleasant. As with any business, you’re going to have your headaches. It’s how you deal with those headaches that will make the difference between keeping your sanity and just chucking it all. This article is going to show you how to deal with some of the not so pleasant things.

Let’s start off with refunds. This is always a problem, especially with people who purchase your product and then five minutes later, they ask for a refund. You know they just wanted it for nothing. So what do you do? Well, if you offered a no questions asked refund policy, there isn’t much you can do. With some payment processors like Clickbank, you don’t even have a choice. All they have to do is write to Clickbank and it’s done. Well, guess what? When you get a refund request, just grant it and move on. Trust me, it’s not worth getting all worked up about. Your time is better served working on your business.

What about customer complaints? You’re going to get them, trust me. The product doesn’t work as described, or it doesn’t work at all, or whatever. When you get a customer complaint, listen to what the complaint is and address it calmly and rationally. If it’s something that can be fixed, fix it. Customer service is very important. Many businesses go under because of poor customer service. If it’s something you can’t fix or make better, explain this to the person and wait for a response. If they then ask for a refund, grant it. Don’t get all worked up over it.

Then of course there are the annoyances of web hosting going down on you. Hey, it happens. Sometimes your site is going to go down. Simply contact the web hosting company, tell them your site is down and have them look into it. Most times, you’ll be back up within an hour or so. If you’re dealing with a reputable company, this shouldn’t be a big problem.

Bottom line is this…any problem you have can be solved. You need to take them in stride and approach dealing with them rationally and calmly. Otherwise, you’re going to give yourself an ulcer and you’re going to hate your business. Trust me, I know.

    To YOUR Success,
