Internet Marketing Tips – Do You Really Understand Your Niche?
Filed under: Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money Online; Tagged as: internet marketing strategies, internet marketing strategy, strategic internet marketingNo CommentsNiche research is a funny thing. Many people think they really know how to do it. The truth is, there are many marketers, especially new ones, who don’t fully understand niche research. Believe it or not, it’s not just finding some keywords with decent monthly searches, competing sites that aren’t through the roof and hoping for a KEI that’s viable. That’s just the start of it. This article is going to show you that there is much more to this process.
So what’s the deal? What more do we need than just a killer KEI? Well, for starters, it would help to know that there is already a product out there on the market that is selling well. Notice I didn’t say just selling, but selling well. There are plenty of products out there that aren’t doing a thing. So you want to make sure you find one that is bringing in the bucks.
Another thing you want to do is find out what people actually want in your niche. A lot of times, folks are looking for information that can easily be found for free? Is that how it is in YOUR niche? Don’t guess. Find out for sure. That means searching out these prospects and asking them what they want. There are many places to go and various methods you can use to find out this info.
You might also want to see what advertisers are paying to promote there products. If there are no paid advertisements on the Internet in your niche, that might indicate that there is no money in it. Sure, there is always the possibility that you have discovered an untapped niche, but it is highly unlikely. There aren’t a lot of niches out there that are completely untapped. However, there are many niches out there that are ripe for the picking because there aren’t a lot of people in them and there IS a demand for a product.
As you can see, niche research goes way beyond just getting some keyword and competing site stats. The reason so many people fail with their niche is because they stop at this point and don’t bother to see if there is really a need for what they want to sell. They end up finding out there is no market when it’s way too late and they’ve already invested a lot of time and money into their business.
And that’s just NOT smart.
