Internet Marketing Tips – Educating Your Prospects

That is where we, as marketers and sales people, have to educate our prospects so that they can make an informed decision. Part of this education process involves showing the prospect why YOUR product or service is the one they should be getting. In this article, I’m going to show you just how to educate your prospect and sell them on your product the best way possible, with an example. Hopefully, after reading this article and following the example in it, you’ll have a solid game plan for educating and selling to your prospect.
In our example, we’re promoting a product that will teach our prospects effective advertising methods for their business. The first step is education. Let’s take a look at how we’d do this.
The Internet is not like your downtown shopping center where people can drive down the street and see your store. On the Internet, nobody is going to know you exist until you advertise your business. The problem with most forms of advertising is that they are not very effective. Sites such as FFAs are a waste of time because nobody actually goes there and buying leads is dangerous because you don’t know where they’re coming from, whether or not they’ve been harvested or how targeted they even are to YOUR product or service.
Okay, see how we’ve educated the prospect? We’ve explained why advertising on the Internet is important and what forms of advertising are not going to bring results and why. Now, we have to sell the prospect on OUR product.
In the course of my many years of Internet marketing experience, I have studied all the methods of Internet marketing and advertising and have put together a book explaining each method of advertising, how it’s used and what the advantages and disadvantages of each method are. By getting this book you WILL be completely armed to effectively promote YOUR business on the Internet.
And of course we go on and explain what this will ultimately do for them, such as bringing more visitors to their site which in turn will result in more sales.
What we have done is educated our prospects and tell them why our product is the best one to solve their problem.
By using this method of promotion, you should have no trouble in not only educating your prospect but also in turning him into a buying customer.
