Internet Marketing Tips – Filtering Out the Garbage
Filed under: Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money Online; Tagged as: internet marketing strategies, internet marketing strategy, strategic internet marketingNo CommentsOne man’s garbage is another man’s main course…and visa versa. I can’t tell you how many things I’ve run across online that I have found incredibly helpful that most people just dismiss as garbage. Ultimately, what ends up happening is that I add hundreds of dollars to my bottom line each month. And then I spend the rest of the time scratching my head wondering why others didn’t see it. Then I realized…it’s not that easy. There is so much info overload, it’s hard to know what to listen to. Well, hopefully, this article will help.
It comes down to focus. I know…also easier said than done. But trust me, if you can’t discipline yourself to focus, you’re not going to succeed online. See, what most people don’t realize is that they don’t have to tackle everything all in one shot. And the truth is, it’s not even possible to do. I don’t care how bright you are. Learn one thing…the thing you need at the time…and then move on. That’s how you assimilate knowledge in a way that’s going to actually end up helping you and not confusing you in the process.
For example, let’s say you’re at the stage of your Internet marketing career where you’ve just finished up learning all the free marketing methods that you can and now you want to start learning paid forms of promotion. There are so many of them. Where do you start? Okay, this is what you do. Pick one…any one. It doesn’t matter which. The important thing is that you work on THAT form of promotion and NO OTHER. You don’t go jumping around from pay per click to solo ads to whatever. Because everything else, other than what you want to master at the time IS garbage.
Actually, it’s worse than garbage, because at least true garbage you can probably spot in a heartbeat. But imagine you latch onto something that actually looks promising. You’re going to be tempted to dump what you began learning to focus on the next new thing. And then when THAT becomes boring, you jump onto something else. This is why so many people get nowhere. They can’t focus.
Take this “lecture” for what it’s worth to you. You’re not going to be able to master the concepts of Internet marketing if you try to learn a half a dozen things at one time. You end up learning none of them well and end up failing at all of them.
Focus. One thing at a time.
