This is the second article I’m writing today with the steam coming out of my ears. Maybe I’m just having a bad day. I don’t know. What I DO know is that there are marketers out there who need to start getting real or they need to go out and get a job. This article is going to explain.

Over at my forum hangout, a member started a thread about how they were going to quit Internet marketing because they weren’t having any success. Well, I opened up the thread and started reading. hoping to help this person out. Well, what I discovered was absolutely shocking.

In seven months of marketing online, this person barely did a week of work. I did more writing today than this person did in three months time. How does this person expect to have any success if they look at this as a hobby? Oh, but it gets better.

Turns out that this person is doing something that they shouldn’t be doing anyway. They’re in a market they have no business being in because of where they are. I can’t go into more detail than that. Point is, there are so many other things this person could be doing that might actually give them a chance at success.

Point is, you have GOT to take your marketing seriously. I understand that some people have full time jobs and can’t give this thing all their time, but if you’re doing nothing but sitting home all day either playing video games or hanging out at YouTube watching videos, you’re doing yourself a BIG disservice.

Internet marketing is not tossing a few articles and a squeeze page online and hoping to sell a few ebooks. It’s a coordinated effort of a number of things including content management, list building, paid advertising, social networking and a number of other things. Talk to any successful marketer and I guarantee that there isn’t one who does JUST one thing to grow his business.

Well, I’m done with my ranting for today. I need to go and get myself a nice strong drink so I can calm down.

Bottom line: Get real or get a job.
