It doesn’t happen when you’re first trying to come up with ideas for products…at least not to most people. But after you’ve created quite a few, it becomes more and more difficult to come up with fresh and new ideas. Trust me, having been in that spot myself, I know what I’m talking about. So how do you do it? How do you keep cranking out those killer products when the well runs dry? This article is going to give you a few ways to come up with new product ideas that should help a lot.

One of my favorites is to participate in forums and just listen to what the members are talking about. You don’t even have to get involved in the conversation. Many members will complain about what they don’t have and what they wish was out there available to them. This is just human nature. In a lot of those complaints, there are great product ideas. For example, one recent complaint was about Clickbank and its poor affiliate tracking. Now, for the resourceful entrepreneur, this is an opportunity to come up with a great tracking system that’s not cookie based and sell it to Clickbank. Hey, why not? Nothing is impossible.

Another great way to come up with product ideas is to go to the various marketplaces around the Internet and see what new products are already coming out. By studying what people are already buying, you can come up with similar products that maybe have more features or are at a lower price point. A new product doesn’t have to be a completely original idea. Truth is, there are very few original ideas in this world. If you look at most products, they’re simply variations on already existing products…either with more features or priced lower.

If the above fails, and it shouldn’t, you could always put up a survey on your blog or web page. That’s right. Flat out ask your readers what products they would like to see created. Trust me, the people who come to your site, for whatever reason, have wants and needs. Ask them what it is they want and they’ll tell you. Not all the ideas will be doable, but you should get a few that are more than viable.

There is no reason to be stuck for product ideas. All you have to do is just open your eyes and ears.
