This article probably couldn’t come at a better time considering what has just happened to a very successful Internet marketer during the launch of his new product. In our Internet marketing A-Z series, we’re up to the letter H. This article will talk about hosting and why choosing a host is so important. As a matter of fact, the wrong hosting choice can destroy your business even if everything else is top notch.

I won’t mention any names because I don’t want to give anybody any ideas, but a big name Internet marketer has just released a new product and on the day of the launch, his servers were attacked and he had to move everything to a new server. Now, I’m not saying that this person chose a wrong hosting solution. Some attacks are almost impossible to stop. However, there are some hosting solutions that are more secure than others. But that is only one reason why choosing a host is so important.

Many marketers choose cheap hosting packages because they feel they can’t afford better. Or worse, they go with free hosting. I can’t even begin to tell you the nightmares that you face with a free hosting solution. Instead of going over everything, let me cover the additional things, besides security, that are so important when choosing a hosting package.

At the top of the list is bandwidth. The worst thing in the world is to launch a product and find out, on the day of the launch, that you’ve run out of bandwidth. It happens with cheap hosting solutions. If you’re launching a product and expecting a lot of traffic, plan for it by making sure your host provides you with sufficient bandwidth. If you’re not sure what you’ll need, hire an expert to help you.

Another consideration, when choosing a web host, is disk storage. You’d be surprised how much disk space is taken up, especially if you have a large product line and lots of files such as videos and audio files. These can add up quickly. Again, if you’re not sure how much disk storage you’re going to need, hire an expert to help you figure it out.

There is plenty more involved with choosing a web host, such as support, features and restrictions. Point is, it is critical that you make sure the hosting solution YOU choose is going to be sufficient for the business you’re planning to run. Switching to a new host is not always a painless process and you want to avoid it if at all possible.

    To YOUR Success,
