Every morning I wake up and go to my email box and find nothing but ads. I get about 50 of them before I even have my breakfast. Everybody is trying to sell me something. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m a marketer too, but it doesn’t always have to be about the sale. How about trying a more subtle approach? If you don’t know how to do subtle, this article will give you some ideas. I think you will find them most useful.

Let’s start off with your email campaigns. How about this? Instead of sending an ad to your prospects, how about sending them an article with some useful information? People love information, especially when it’s free. Naturally, you want it to relate to the problem that they’re having. You know, the reason why they agreed to get emails from you in the first place. Maybe you can even send them a PDF that you made on the subject as an attachment. Trust me, they will more than appreciate this. And then, inside the PDF, you can have a link to a product of yours. See, subtle.

What about social networking sites? This is another area where too many people just send affiliate links for all their communication. Well, how about this. Go to Twitter and get an account. Get a decent following and start sending them links to your blog where you have tons of articles on the subjects that they’re interested in. Again, this is free information that they’ll thank you for. Of course, in the signature of each article, you can have a link to a product of yours. Again, subtle.

People are going to be more receptive to you if you build a relationship with them FIRST. And the best way to do that is by giving them information that is going to help them for free. Do this long enough and what’s going to happen is that the word is going to spread that you DO give a lot of valuable info to help people.You will gain a bigger following and ultimately make more sales because of the trust you’ve earned.

Why not give it a try? You might find that it works better than hounding people with ads day in and day out.
