Internet Marketing Tips – How Big Do You Want to Get?
Filed under: Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money Online; Tagged as: internet marketing strategies, internet marketing strategy, strategic internet marketingNo CommentsThis article was actually inspired by a true life story. A member of the Warrior Forum, a place where I hang out a lot, was having so much success that he and his partner were thinking about opening up offices and hiring employees. Yes, life is good for them. But how good will it be after they take this next step…if they even decide to do it? If you’re wondering why they wouldn’t, then you haven’t thought it all through. That’s where this article comes in.
One of the things that people like about Internet marketing is that they no longer have a job where they have to report to a boss. They can work when they want and on what they want. Nobody to tell them that they can’t do something. I know that’s the thing I love most about Internet marketing. I am my own boss. Some mornings I get up early and other mornings I sleep in. You can’t beat that kind of life. And fortunately, my business is small enough that I can do it all by myself.
But what happens when you start to get so big that you can no longer do it on your own? What then? Well, you have one of two choices. You can cut back on things. Maybe sell off parts of your business, if you can even do that. Some businesses are tied to a name, yours. So selling may not be an option. The second choice is what these two people are considering doing…opening up offices and actually going back to a job. Make no mistake about it. Once you have employees who you have to watch over, you’re working a job…even if you ARE still the boss.
What this means is that you can no longer get up when you want and go into the office when you want. Oh sure, you could. But unless you know you have people who you can trust, you’re going to have to supervise to some extent. It isn’t quite as stress free as working for yourself. You’ve still got a structured environment similar to the job that you left in order to get into Internet marketing.
So you need to ask yourself, is this something that you want? Personally, I never want to get any bigger than I am right now. But that’s just me. You might feel differently. And that’s the point. Before you start working towards something that you might not be comfortable with, make sure that the thought of watching over a staff appeals to you. If not, you might find that you’re no happier with your new found wealth than you were with your old job.
After all…money isn’t everything.
