Internet Marketing Tips – How To Get The Big Boys To Play With You
No CommentsThis is one of the biggest complaints I hear from people. “Mommy, the big boys won’t play with me.” By big boys, I’m referring to the ones in Internet marketing who are making the big bucks. Everybody and their grandmother wants the so called “guru” to pitch his or her latest and greatest creation. And then, when that doesn’t happen, they whine about it. Well, there is a reason why that doesn’t happen…actually many reasons. This article will explain the main ones and how to get around them. Yes, you CAN get the big boys to play with you if you play THEIR game.
First mistake marketers make, and this is the killer, is they simply write to these big guns and flat out ask them for some kind of joint venture. “Hey, I got this great product. How about promoting it for me?” This is NOT the way to go about it. A better approach would be to actually get to know the person first. Maybe go to a seminar and meet them in person. Then, send them an email and ask them if there is something you can do for them to help them out. You’d be surprised how far this approach can take you.
Another reason why the big boys don’t play with you is because they just don’t have the time. Think about it. These are very successful people and they get bombarded with JV requests all the time. If they responded to each request, they’d never get any work done. And make no mistake about it…they have TONS of work to do. So what you might want to do in order to get around this is to send them a very polite email telling them that you know they’re very busy and would appreciate, at their leisure, if they would look over your product and let you know what they think. Tell them there is no rush on this and thank them for their time. You’ll be surprised how well this approach works.
Another reason the big boys won’t play with you, and this is not to be rude or anything like that, but you’re a total nobody. I mean you’ve never even sold ONE unit of a product you’ve created. You are nowhere on the radar at all. At least build up a little bit of a name for yourself. Sell a few units of something. Create a product, get it sold and show these people what you’ve done. Show them some testimonials that you have. Let them see that you DO create quality products. They might be more receptive to working with you.
It’s not easy to get the big boys to play with you, but if you follow the above suggestions, it does get a whole lot easier.
