This may not be a problem for you now, but as you get more and more successful, you will begin to get people coming out of the woodwork either asking you for JVs or asking you to review your ebook. Everybody will feel like they have a monopoly on YOUR time and the only thing you have to do in YOUR day is to cater to them. Yes, if this sounds like it’s going to be a bit of a rant, you’re right. But I am also going to show you how to handle these situations with the least amount of pain for both sides. Yes, the person asking for your help will not be happy, but if you handle the situation professionally, they will still respect you.

Let’s start with people asking you to review their ebooks or products. If you have the time, do it. It will definitely bring about good will between the two of you. However, if you’re in a time crunch and really can’t get to it right away, this is what you do. You reply to the person and tell them that you’d love to review their book but unfortunately right now you are under a lot of time pressure. Tell them that you’ll be glad to put them on your to-do list if that’s okay, but it will probably be quite some time until you can get to it as you have other people who have also asked you for reviews first in line. The person on the other end will of course not be happy, but by handling it in a professional manner like this, you will at least earn their respect.

Okay, let’s move on to the JV requests. This is actually the tricky one. The reason is this. You don’t want to burn any bridges. The day may come when you might actually want to do a JV with this person, even if it’s not right now. So the way you handle it, if you’re absolutely sure that you can’t do a JV at the time or don’t want to do one, is to tell the person that your promotional schedule is all booked up for the near future and one thing you don’t like to do is hammer your list with offers. The person, if he is reasonable, will of course understand this. Then tell him that when the opportunity arises, you will contact him and look at what he has to offer, reminding him that you can’t make any promises because you have very high standards and don’t accept every JV that crosses your desk as you want your list to only have the best. Again, the person will respect you for this.

How you handle people will go a long way to gaining the respect, not only of them but of the whole Internet marketing community.

    To YOUR Success,
