Okay, maybe I’m just having a bad day. Truth is, I am in a pretty foul mood today because of some annoyances that are really starting to bug me. But I have to ask…is there a point to all this? You probably have no idea what I’m talking about, so okay…I’m going to try my very best to explain what I mean and where I’m going with this. It just might change how you feel about Internet marketing in general.

Each of us has different methods for marketing our products. Some use PPC, some articles, some ad buys or whatever. Some people build lists, some don’t. Some participate in forums. Heck, some start their own forums. And as far as products go, we each sell different things. Some people are in health, some in music, some in debt (literally) and so on. Some people don’t even sell products but instead sell their services such as copywriting, graphic design, programming and so on.

We all do our own thing. And if you’re in the make money online niche, you do it with a whole bunch of other people who are doing it to you too. You sell John Doe your niche product and John Doe sells you his pay per click product, or whatever. The money keeps going around and around and around. It’s like one big incestuous pool. So I have to ask…what’s the point?

Are any of us REALLY doing any good? Are we REALLY fulfilling a useful purpose? Does any of this REALLY matter other than to bring money into our bank accounts and feed our families? Because if that’s all we’re doing, let me tell you, there are easier ways to do it. Sure, the opportunity, as an Internet marketer, is virtually unlimited. I know people making seven figure incomes. But so what? How much money does one person REALLY need?

I sometimes get the feeling that all of this, in the grand scheme of things, when you’re taking about world hunger and war and all that other nasty stuff, is pretty meaningless. But then I think about some of the marketers out there who take a good part of their hard earned money and donate it to worthy causes. And then suddenly I realize that maybe we ARE doing some good.

There is a point to this rant. If you’re making money through Internet marketing just for money’s sake, you might want to sit back for just a moment and think about how you can make a REAL difference.

Hopefully…I’ve made my point.
