Internet Marketing Tips – Is What You’re Doing Worth the Effort?
Filed under: Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money Online; Tagged as: internet marketing strategies, internet marketing strategy, strategic internet marketingNo CommentsThis article was inspired by a post I read today at the Warrior Forum. It was about a particular marketing strategy. On the surface, it seemed like a good enough idea, but upon careful examination I determined that maybe the system itself wasn’t worth the effort put into making it work…if it even works at all. While this article is not going to tear the particular system itself apart, it will discuss the validity of putting your efforts into something that only brings a small return.
There are essentially only two things that we have with what to promote our business with…our time and our money. We can use one or the other or a combination of both. I’m going to leave the subject of spending money on advertising for another article. Trust me, more advertising dollars are wasted in worthless promotion that you can possibly imagine. In this article, I’m going to focus solely on time, because that is something that you can never get back.
Let’s take something simple like writing one article and submitting it to a directory such as this one. Let’s say it takes you 30 minutes to write and submit the article and that article over the course of its time on the Internet brings in $100. That would mean that you earned what comes out to $200 for an hours work. That’s not a bad return on your investment of time.
Okay, now let’s say you decided that you were going to spend the time to submit that one article to a number of places on the Internet. Now, if each place were to bring in the same return, then I would say that doing so would make the process worth it, even if it took 10 minutes for each submission. But what if this process only produced another $100 in income and it took you two hours to complete the process? That would mean you spent 2.5 hours to earn $200. Now you are down to $80 per hour.
Had you written a brand new article and just submitted it to the directory where you submitted the first article, you would have increased your dollars per hour worked by $20. Multiply this over the course of many articles and you can see where this can add up over time.
Naturally, this is a very simplified example but it’s used to illustrate how we can get ourselves wrapped up in activities that don’t bring us the biggest return. That’s why it’s important to track everything that you do so that you don’t waste time on activities that are not productive.
To YOUR Success,
