I want to thank my friend Jason Parker for giving me the inspiration to write this article. He’s a member of the Warrior Forum and he started a post to tell other members that in does get easier. In reading it, it made me think of my early days as a marketer. I’d like to share them with you in this article and hopefully show you how things DO get easier as you go along.

When I first started, I was clueless. When I say clueless, I mean it literally. This was over six years ago. I knew nothing about Internet marketing…and it showed. My first six months of marketing (if you can call it that) I made all of $28. I kind of wear that figure as my badge of courage. Most people would have given up by then. Not me. I knew that this had to be the bottom of the barrel.

Well, I kept learning and I kept working at it. After a few more months, I was earning about $1,500 to $2,000 a month. I was as happy as a pig in mud. But it didn’t stop there. I kept learning some more. I started seeing where I could take shortcuts and be more productive doing less work. I still worked long hours, but I did less busy work and more actual productive work. Eventually, my income went up to $4,000 a month and then $5,000 a month.

Today, I am earning six figures working just a few hours a week. Actually, I am kind of semi retired right now. I am spending most of my time in the recording studio (I’m a musician) and playing video games (I’m also a big time gamer) and spend very little time marketing. I still write a couple articles each day because I enjoy writing. For me, it’s therapeutic. Don’t ask why.

Jason compares it to playing the guitar, which I also do. When you first start out, your fingers bleed. Oh do I remember those days. If you’re a guitar player, you can check out Jason’s site if he ever gets it back up. It seems to be temporarily out of order. Point is, today, I can play just about anything and the days of finger bleeding are long gone. Trust me, Internet marketing is no different. It does get easier. And as it gets easier, the money starts coming in faster and more regularly.

So do yourself a big favor. Hang in there through the bleeding fingers. The virtuoso playing is just around the corner.
