This article was inspired from a forum post at the Warrior Forum where one of the members asked the other members to share their best tips. It got me thinking. I then realized that that’s the biggest problem with Internet marketing…taking tips and trying to make a business out of them. It’s a sure recipe for disaster. The reason is because the tips are incomplete at best and wrong at worst. So, this article is going to share with you my very best tip…one that you can’t go wrong with. Know what it is?

Stop listening to tips. They’re only going to confuse you. Somebody is going to give you a piece of advice and that’s all it’s going to be…a piece. So many things will have been left out of the process that there is just no possible way you can put anything together without making a total mess of things. At best, you’ll get an incomplete picture and achieve minimal results. This is no way to market and certainly no way to run a business.

Instead, you need a complete plan. I’m talking about a complete business plan from the ground floor up. Start with an idea. See if the idea is viable. In other words, is there a demand? Research the competition. See what you’re up against. If it’s a mega million dollar operation, you’re going to have your work cut out for you. If it’s a ma and pa store…not so much. If you don’t know how to begin as far as putting together a business or marketing plan, get help. Find a coach…somebody who has a proven track record. No, I’m not available. Most of my time these days, in semi retirement, is spent playing video games and taking trips with my daughter. Hey, it’s what I worked six hard years for.

Point is, tips are going to be the downfall of most marketers because they don’t have the background and the foundation in order to make the most of those tips. So do yourself a favor…make a plan. And if you can’t do it on your own…get help.

That is the best tip I, or anyone else, can give you.
