I get a lot of people tell me things like, “I can’t do this” or “It’s too hard” or “I’m not smart enough.” The excuses for being a failure at Internet marketing go on and on. Well, no more excuses…for anybody. I’m going to tell you a story (one that I will shorten considerably for this article) that should give you all the inspiration you need to get out there and market your tootsies off. Like I said…no excuses.

I earn six figures a year marketing online. It’s a fact. Here’s another fact. I wasn’t born this way. As a matter of fact, I was a total failure all my life before I hit the Internet. It took me six years to get a four year college degree. Why? Don’t ask. It took me one year of searching for work to realize that I wasn’t going to get anywhere. So I went back to school… yet again. I finally got my first job through some creative resume writing. I’ll leave it at that. But that job only lasted a year.

I got another job that paid peanuts and lost that when the company closed up shop. I then went back to school yet again after looking for work for about a year. I finally found another crumby job that I kept for almost 10 years. It was the pits. The 16 hour work days nearly killed me. Finally, I had a nervous breakdown and quit. I went into sales but made all of $600 doing that. I then went back to school again. I finally reached a point where I was working posting stick notes on law briefs for $7 an hour.

I’ll stop there because I think you know where this is going. After about 25 years of failure, I finally hit the Internet. And even then, it took me six months to finally start earning some money from my efforts. I was as clueless as they come. But I worked hard. I studied. I looked to see what others were doing. But most importantly, I didn’t give up. I kept at it until things started to stick. I didn’t buy tons of ebooks either. I learned most of my stuff from trial and error.

Today, I spend most of my day in the recording studio or playing video games while my 40 some odd products bring me a steady income everyday.

Excuse time is over. Get out there and make some money.

It’s not as hard as you think it is.
