Once you start getting up into the more advanced elements of Internet marketing, you’re going to want to plan an event, whether it be a seminar, webinar or whatever. Now, if this seems like a daunting proposition, don’t worry. It’s really not as hard as you think. Actually, as the one planning the event, you really have the least amount of work to do. Most of the people you will contact will basically be the ones who will turn the event into a success. This article will give you some basic guidelines to follow.

The first step is probably the hardest…deciding what kind of an event you want to have. There are pluses and minuses to each type. I won’t get into them all but for example, with a live seminar being held in a hotel or catering hall, there is a great expense involved. However, you can’t beat the in person experience. That’s how you REALLY make friends. With a webinar, it’s dirt cheap, but it’s also very impersonal in comparison. So you have to decide what’s more important to you.

The next step is to decide who you’d like to have at this event. If you can come up with enough incentives, you can get some very interesting and influential people to attend. The key is to make it worth their while. To do that, you need to get a great number of people to attend the event…and that’s where advertising comes in. You need to promote the heck out of these things and long before the actual time of the event. It needs to go viral and you need to get as much mileage out of your promotions as you can.

After you’ve decided who you want to be there, the next step is to actually go about your promotions. Start with your lists. These will be the most responsive people. Offer them incentives to attend such as free products. If it’s a webinar, where there is not much expense, you may even offer the webinar itself at no charge. That is certain to get a boat load of people to attend. The key is to always be thinking about how much value you can give to the people who will be speaking at this event and the people who will be attending it. The more you give…the more you get in return.

While the above is very general, it should get you on the right track and off to a good start. Events are great money makers if planned correctly.
