Everybody is looking for that magic button in their lives. Think I’m kidding? Well, read on and you’ll find out just how true that is. In the meantime, maybe it’s time you thought about selling them the button. Think it’s just a myth? Think it doesn’t exist? Think again. There are more buttons than you can possibly imagine.
Here’s a great example of a button. You’re hungry. You really don’t want to go through the hassle of turning on the stove and dumping some rice in one pot, spinach in another, and tossing a piece of chicken on a frying pan. That is WAY too much work, especially after you’ve been out slaving at your job all day. I mean really! Who wants to do all THAT?
The microwave oven and TV dinner to the rescue. Yes sir. At the touch of a button and the tear of some plastic, you can pop your TV dinner in the old microwave and have a whole meal in about 5 minutes depending on how much stuff is in the box. No fuss, no muss. There are days I want to KISS the person who invented these things.
Now THAT is a button.
Know what I hate? I hate mowing the lawn. First of all, I have terrible allergies so just the smell of grass has me sneezing like crazy. So what do you think mowing the lawn does to me? You got it. It’s NOT fun.
Come the mowing service to the rescue.
Twice every month, these guys come to my house and not only mow the lawn, but they also trim the hedges and, in the fall, rake and bag the leaves. By the time they are done, my lawn looks like something out of a “Better Homes” magazine. And all I had to do is write these guys a check.
But wait! I’m just getting started.
Do you have any idea how time consuming it is to do a manual backup of your computer? Every day or week or however often you do your backups (if you even do them because they’re so annoying) you have to go through this tedious process.
Then somebody came along with Carbonite and made the process as easy as the push of a button. Just install the software, mark the files that you want backed up each day and the Carbonite software and service takes care of everything. You never have to touch anything again.
And reinstalling? It’s a piece of cake if your PC goes down. Just download everything you backed up from their server to your new PC.
Here’s a REAL button for you.
Remember the old days (I do) when you’d have to come home, get out of your car, and manually open up your garage? I remember my grandfather used to do this every time he’d pick me up to take me to his home. Those were fun times.
Today, all you need is a garage door opener. Press the little button and that door opens right up for you to pull your car right into the garage.
It doesn’t get any easier than that.
Okay, those are enough examples. I think you’ve gotten the point. Or have you? Do you now understand the title of this article?

“Internet Marketing Tips – Sell Them the Button”
Do you understand why I’m telling you this? If not, I’ll explain.
The human race is a lazy bunch. I’m sorry, I love people, but when push comes to shove, they’re lazy. They’ll look for any easy way to do anything. Heck, they’ll avoid doing it at all if they can. Most people only want to do the things that give them enjoyment. Anything else is a job.
Think about it. Why did you want to become an Internet marketer to begin with? Was it maybe because you couldn’t stand your “job?”
And don’t you look for shortcuts to make your Internet marketing easier? What about the tools you use for niche research? Imagine having to do all that by hand? With something like Market Samurai, you don’t have to. Just plug in the keywords you’re interested in and you’ll get all the stats you could possibly want.
People want it fast, they want it now, and they don’t want to do a lot to get it.
I admit it. I’m no different. If I can find a piece of software that will automate a process for me, I’ll use it. And if it’s a process I really hate doing myself, I’ll pay just about any amount of money for that software.
If you’ve ever hand coded HTML you know what I’m talking about. Thank God for things like Dreamweaver. And while not a complete button, it certainly makes life easier doesn’t it? I just have to go get a new version because the one I have isn’t compatible with Windows 7. But that’s my problem.
You’re probably thinking to yourself, “What kind of button could I possibly sell?” Well, think about all the things that YOU wish you had to automate some things or make things easier for yourself. It might not exist yet, but if you can think of it, you can certainly find a programmer to create it. Just make sure you have them sign a non disclosure agreement before they start.
Maybe you can come up with a service that saves other people time. One word of caution about services. You want to make sure that the monthly fee that you get from the service is affordable for the consumer but also high enough to actually pay for the cost of running the service. There is no point doing something if it ends up losing you money.
Here is the bottom line. If you can come up with something that will save other people time and is at a price that is affordable that THEY can justify spending, you’ve got yourself a winner … especially if it’s something that is very much in demand.
Sell them the button. Because like I said, the human race (got to love ‘em) is a lazy bunch.
