Internet Marketing Tips – Separating Yourself From the Rest

Well, if you have, then you have a big problem because that means you’re not doing enough to separate yourself from the rest of the crowd. In this article, I’m going to focus on one very specific situation and how to get around looking like everybody else. You might want to take notes.
I’m talking about the big product launch here. You know the one I mean. Mr Joe Cool product creator comes out with this new gizmo that does everything from cook your meals to take out the trash for you. And of course he has to contact every other Joe Cool marketer with a list to get them to promote this gizmo to their list. Pretty common scenario, right? Well, there are some big problems with this whole situation.
One of the biggest of those problems the list itself. Now, if the IM community, let’s face it, there aren’t really a lot of us out there. So John Newbie, who might very well be on YOUR list is probably on many other lists as well. Mr Joe Cool product creator maybe sends out his pitch to 10 or even 20 marketers with lists in order to get his product sold. Out of those 10 or 20 marketers, John Newbie is on, let’s say, 7 of their lists. Do you see what’s going to happen?
If not, let me clearly spell it out for you. John Newbie now gets 7 pitches for this super cool gizmo from seven different people…you being one of them. Several things can happen. I have found from my experience that most of them are bad.
For starters, John Newbie sees 7 different sales pitches and doesn’t know who to buy from. I mean after all, what’s really the difference between them? Well, if you’re doing things correctly, there will be a big difference in your part. But if not, John Newbie just walks away confused and doesn’t buy from anybody.
What’s even worse, John Newbie can look at your pitch and say to himself, “Man, I thought you were different from the rest of the crooks out there, but here you are pitching the same garbage as everybody else just because it’s got some ridiculous price tag on it” and ends up opting out of your list. He’s THAT disappointed in you.
So what’s the answer? The answer is really simple. You need to separate yourself from the rest of the crowd. There are two easy ways to do this.
One way is to write up a comprehensive review of the product. Naturally, you’ll have to actually get a copy of the product to do this, but trust me, it will be worth the effort. The other way is to offer a bonus that compliments the product itself…something that the prospect would be crazy to turn down.
That is how you separate yourself from all the other sheep out there who just have to jump on every little thing that comes down the pike.
