Internet Marketing Tips – Stop Complaining About Clickbank!
Filed under: Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money Online; Tagged as: internet marketing strategies, internet marketing strategy, strategic internet marketingNo CommentsOkay, this has gone on way too long. Every single day, it’s another forum thread complaining about Clickbank. Clickbank is stealing my commissions. Clickbank’s tracking stinks. Enough already. It makes absolutely no sense to complain about this payment processing and affiliate marketplace giant. Why? Don’t worry…I’m going to explain why. After you are done reading this, you will realize why all the whining is totally futile.
First of all, let me address the ridiculous accusation that Clickbank is shaving commissions. This is so crazy it’s absurd. It doesn’t matter whether the merchant gets credit for the sale or the merchant AND the affiliate both get credit for the sale. Clickbank’s cut is the same regardless. They take roughly about 10% from each person’s cut. I’ve done the math on my own products and it works out. So it makes no sense for Clickbank to rob from its affiliates. It’s only going to tick them off and it’s bad business.
Having said that, yes, there IS a problem with Clickbank. The main problem is that their tracking system, which is as old as Moses, is flawed. It really needs to be upgraded. And therein lies the problem. Where is their incentive for doing this upgrade? Obviously, even with all the affiliates and merchants who have left Clickbank, there are enough coming in to replace them that the business being lost is negligible…if any at all. So if there is no business lost, where is the incentive to make changes?
Okay, so what’s the answer? Well, instead of complaining, how about you do this? If you really are fed up with Clickbank, the only way to affect changes is to do one of several things. One, and probably the best solution, is simply to stop using them. If enough affiliates AND merchants stop using them, they’ll have to make changes or go out of business. Another thing you can do is go on a mass promotional campaign against Clickbank. Warn people about their antiquated tracking. And finally, if you have the money, go and make your own processing giant with the same features and put them out of business.
If you can’t do, or aren’t willing to do those few things, stop complaining because it doesn’t do anybody any good.
I have already started my move away from Clickbank. All my new products now get sold through PayPal. It’s a small step. But if everybody does it, it WILL lead to big changes.
