Internet Marketing Tips – The Fear Of Loss
Filed under: Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money Online; Tagged as: internet marketing strategies, internet marketing strategy, strategic internet marketingNo CommentsFear is a great motivator. Let’s be honest, if people are afraid that something terrible is going to happen, they’re going to do whatever they have to in order to make sure that it doesn’t happen, or that if it does, they’re at least protected. That’s why we buy all kinds of insurance. Well, when it comes to Internet marketing, fear is a great motivator too. The fear of loss is one of the greatest motivators. In this article, I’m going to show you how to take advantage of that fear of loss.
The first way to take advantage of the fear of loss is with limited quantities. By creating products or services with limited units being sold, you’ll get a lot more people scrambling to pick up your products. For example, let’s say you’re selling an ebook on Adwords and you want to make it so that this information only gets into a few hands. You can restrict it to 300 copies sold, or whatever number you come up with. Just make sure you stick to what you say.
The next way to take advantage of the fear of loss is with price increases. You can come out with a product at an introductory price and make prospects aware that after a certain number of days, the price will be going up. You can make the introductory offer as short or as long as you like. Just make sure that whatever you tell your prospects, you actually stick to. You can easily destroy your credibility if you tell your prospects one thing and do another.
Another way to take advantage of fear of loss is with exclusive memberships or bonuses for early orders. Some sites will offer memberships with what they call fast action bonuses for the first X number of people to sign up. The great thing about this type of fear of loss is that it doesn’t restrict the number of sales or signups, just the number of people who get the bonuses. This way, you’re not limiting your income potential with this strategy, but you are increasing the speed at which you will make your first X number of sales.
I know a lot of marketers who abuse this tactic. In other words, they don’t do what they say they’re going to do. This is just wrong. I am not endorsing that kind of activity at all. However, when used honestly, this tactic can greatly increase your short term sales. By restricting units, time and bonuses, you can easily get prospects tripping over each other trying to get to your product before the next guy.
