Remember that old song from the 90s? I do. It came out around the same time that my daughter had her back surgery. Well, let me tell you something. The song may have been great, but if you’re waiting for a star to fall to make it as an Internet marketing star, you’re in for a long wait. You have to make your mark now. If you’re wondering what I’m talking about, read this article. You’ll understand.

A lot of Internet marketers who I speak to tell me that the reason that they have such a hard time making it in this business is because they have to go up against guys like Mike Filsaime, Frank Kern, John Reese and on and on. They tell me that they can’t compete with these guys. Okay, let’s put this BS to rest once and for all because this kind of thinking is so wrong on so many levels. I’m going to give you the two main reasons.

The first one is that you aren’t competing with them. I don’t compete with them. I don’t compete with anybody. I just do my own thing. See, marketing is a funny thing. If you go about the process of marketing your products and services and know what you’re doing, you’re going to get your traffic and you’re going to make your sales. You may not make the kind of money that a Reese or a Filsaime are making right off the bat, but if you keep at it, just like I did, you’ll make a nice living. I do. I earn six figures a year. So having guys like Reese and Filsaime around hasn’t hurt me any.

The second issue I have with this statement is this. Let’s say you ARE competing with these guys. Well, at one time, these guys were competing with somebody else. There are plenty of Internet marketers who have come up in just the last couple of years, after me even, who are a lot more successful than I am. How come going up against Reese and Filsaime didn’t hurt them any? How come they’re now at the top of the marketing chain and people are talking about going up against them?

Point is this…if you’re waiting for a star to fall to make it big…you’ve got a long wait. But it doesn’t matter. You can make it big in spite of all the stars.

Heck, you might even make it big BECAUSE of all the stars.
