Internet Marketing Tips – Watch Some TV And Learn Marketing

You can learn a lot from watching TV. The techniques that work in the offline world also work online as well. If anything, they work even better because you don’t have the astronomical costs associated with offline advertising. Think I’m kidding? Try getting some prime time advertising on a major network for a 30 second spot and see how much it will cost you. In this article, I’m going to cover some offline techniques that you can bring to the online world and really clean up.

The first one, and probably the biggest, is video. In case you haven’t noticed, YouTube…which was recently bought out by Google…is the fourth ranked site according to Alexa. That means that tons of people go there everyday. Heck, I go there. I can’t even tell you the great things I’ve found. Actually, I can.

Just today, I decided I wanted to learn how to play Classical Gas by Mason Williams. I found a video on YouTube that actually taught this great song in lessons. But, the person offering the lessons went one better. They offered a DVD, which you could find at their website, that includes all 10 lessons PLUS tab charts, all for the low price of $24.95 Think I’m not going to get this?

Now think about it. Had it not been for YouTube, I would have never known about this DVD. I would have never seen how good this guy is and how he knows his stuff. My point is, if you REALLY want to do some serious marketing, start making some videos. You will begin to see your sales skyrocket if you’re targeting a niche with a real demand.

Another way to grab a hold of your market is with a press release. Now, they do these a little differently in the offline world, but the concept is the same. A press release, well written, will tell the general public about your company or product and at the very least, will develop enough curiosity for them to at least check out your site. From there, who knows how many customers you’re going to get? A press release doesn’t take long to write and they don’t cost anything.

Finally, there is buying advertising on other sites. Many sites will give you really great deals on banner ads where you don’t pay for impressions but only on the number of clicks to your banner. If you design a banner that is catchy, you’ll be surprised how many visitors you can get. And this advertising is a lot cheaper than taking an ad in a paper.

By utilizing videos, press releases and banner ads, you can get to a market that you never reached before.

Try it…You may be surprised at the results.
