Internet Marketing Tips – Why Don’t My Prospects Click on My Email Links?

Okay, we’re going to make an assumption here. The assumption is that your emails are getting delivered and opened. If not, then that’s the subject for another article. For now, we’ll assume the above is true. Okay, so what aren’t your prospects clicking on your email ad links? Well, there could be a few reasons. I am going to cover the main ones in this article, so pay attention.

Probably the main reason is that you’re not giving the person on your list any value in your emails. Let’s say you run a daily newsletter “saying” that you will be giving daily tips. When opening up your email all the prospect finds is a sales pitch. This is going to make a lot of people angry. Look, they understand that this is business and you’re in it to make money, but if you promise them something and don’t deliver, they’re not going to buy from you. If anything, you’ll probably get tons of unsubscribes.

What if you ARE providing value or you’ve at least made it clear to your prospects that this newsletter is going to be about sales pitches. At least they know what’s coming. Fine, so why would this situation still not work? Well, the reason is that your sales pitch didn’t give the prospect a compelling reason to click on your ad link. In other words, the sales pitch was weak. There was no juice to it. I can’t tell you how many emails I get that are three or four lines of “Hey, check out this great new product that will make you millions.” I don’t know about you but I never click on any links in emails like that.

Finally, the last reason people aren’t clicking on your links is that you either forgot to include the link in your email or you put the wrong link. I can’t tell you how many people don’t proofread their emails before sending them out. I mean for crying out loud, at least click on the link yourself to make sure it’s working. It takes about five seconds.

Anyway, there you have it. Those are the main reasons why prospects aren’t clicking on your links. Now go ahead and fix the problem.

It should take you all of five seconds.
