Believe it or not, your list has a life. They don’t live and breathe for your every email. Sometimes, they are so busy, they don’t get to your emails for days. Don’t panic. You’d be surprised how many days a single email promotion can go on bringing you in sales. This article explains.

Just recently, I created my latest product and sent off a brief email to my list about it. Now, the first day the email went out, about four days before the writing of this article, I made the bulk of my sales. But then something odd happened. The next day, some more sales came in. Now, this didn’t surprise me too much, but then the next day, some more came in. Today, just this morning, four whole days later, yet another sale came in. Makes you wonder how often some of these people check their email.

Well, that’s just the point. See, your list DOES have a life. Some people will open your email that very same day and then put it in some kind of a folder named “follow up” or something of that nature. They don’t have the time to get to it right then, but they do want to check it out. Others will look it over, won’t be sure that it’s something that they want and have to think about it some before they buy. Still others won’t even open up your email for a few days simply because they weren’t near their computer. This is especially true in niches outside of IM where your list members may check their emails once a week.

Point is, just because you send out an email on day one doesn’t mean you’re going to get all your responses on day one. Now, if you think some of your list may have forgotten about your email, what you might do is send them a reminder in about a week or so. Maybe include that reminder with some tips or something related to your niche. That way it doesn’t look like you’re just selling to them.

A lot of marketers panic when they don’t get a response from their list right away. My personal experience tells me that this is foolish.
