The problem with too many beginning product creators is that they are too short sighted. They either think that they can create just one product that will sell for life or they don’t think in terms of a product line that actually makes sense, instead just throwing together a bunch of unrelated items that make absolutely no sense at all. Well, that’s all going to change after you read this article. I’m going to show, by example, how to create a product line that will keep customers coming for a long time.

Naturally, this information is going to vary slightly depending on the niche that you’re in. But the concepts are the same. The key is in the initial product. You want to first gain the trust of your customers. So what you want to do is introduce a product that is on the low end of the scale in price. For example, if you were selling writing products, you might start with one that introduces concepts on how to write articles. You might price this product at around $27. It’s inexpensive enough that you shouldn’t have too much trouble selling it. But where do you go from there?

Well, you have a couple of avenues you can take. If you’re selling general writing products, you could go wide and offer up a product on how to write sales letters. Since the process is a little more complicated, you might price it a little higher at say $37. If your previous buyers were happy with your article writing book, they will probably purchase this one as well. Or, you can go deep and offer an advanced book on article writing. Maybe price it at $47 or even $67. But we’re not done.

Next step up the ladder is to offer a coaching course. This is where you personally take people by the hand and teach them either how to write articles or sales copy. You could price a course like this at several hundred dollars. If your customers were happy with your first two products and feel that personal coaching will really help them, they’re likely to take you up on your offer.

Now, what I outlined above is a very small product line, going three deep, but you get the point. All the products are related and each one leads into the next. That’s how you create a product line.

Try it sometime. You might just find that it works quite well.
