Product Creation Tips – Do Buyers Expect More?
Filed under: Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money Online, Product Creation; Tagged as: create ebook, create ebooks, ebook creation, how to write an ebook, Product CreationNo CommentsAs product creators, we have an obligation to our customers to provide them with products of quality. But what exactly does that mean? Does the same quality of 10 years ago hold up today? Do our customers expect more from us? Are we trying to cater to an unreasonable demand? If you’re wondering where I’m going with this, keep reading. I think you’ll find this a fascinating article if I have to say so myself.
Have you ever taken a look at the old days? Now depending on how old you are, that could be 40 years ago or 140 years ago. Everything is relative. But go back to a time as recent as the 70s when I was growing up as a kid. Do you know that back then we had no PCs? We had no iPods or iPhones or any of the really cool toys that we have today. Heck, in the early 70s, we didn’t even have CDs. We had 45s and 8 tracks. How’s that for ancient?
Okay, so what’s the point? Well, when all these new gadgets first came out, they were really cool. They were also really expensive. But we had to have them because they were new and improved over what we had prior. After all, 45s wore out but CDs don’t. Today, however, we take CDs for granted. We expect to have them. Heck, today, we expect to just download our music from the Internet straight to our MP3 players. I mean, how spoiled are we?
And that is the bigger point. We are so spoiled that we expect the absolute best of whatever it is, whether it’s a piece of technology or a new ebook. Years ago, an ebook that, by today’s standards, was crap would sell for a pretty penny. Now, we give those books away. The free line has been moved so far that it’s almost impossible to keep up with it.
So what’s the answer? It’s not a pretty one for those who want to stay in business. You have to give more and more. Now, instead of just an ebook, you have to also provide videos and audio. You have to include numerous bonuses. And the price has to be so low that the prospect would be insane to pass it up.
Sound tough? No one ever said this business was easy. However, those who want to survive it have to go the extra mile or they’re going to be left behind selling 45s and 8 tracks to a public that’s dying for CDs and music downloads.
