Well, it was bound to happen. Google is finally going after all those ebooks and programs with Google in their domain name. Honestly, I don’t know what took them so long as this garbage has been going on for quite some time, but the hammer has fallen and suddenly, big selling products are now being taken to the courts and the outcome doesn’t look good in their favor. So, thinking of creating a product with Google or Amazon or whatever in the title? Better think again. This article explains why.

Let’s just start with the legal end of this mess. All these sites such as Google, Amazon, Clickbank or whatever, are all trademarked. And by law, if you use a trademarked name, you better get permission from the company. In some cases, you’ll be allowed. In most, you won’t. However, this doesn’t seem to stop people because of the “possibility” of one of these giants coming after you. See, there are a lot of product creators in the world and it’s just not feasible to go after them all.

Until something happens.

And that’s what just did with Google and all the Google killer products. Turns out, many of these products are promoting shady CPA offers and forced continuity with no way of getting out and the complaints are starting to come in. Problem for Google is, the people complaining are associating these products WITH Google itself. Why? Well, they have the Google name in them, don’t they? So why shouldn’t they? What reason do these people have to believe that your product has nothing to do with Google? They don’t. And so they end up getting the short end of the complaint stick.

And when THAT happens, it’s time to shut down the gravy train, which is exactly what’s happening now. And the sad part is, there are actually some legit products out there with the Google name that are going to get caught in the cross hairs. It’s a shame when the innocent have to be punished because of the guilty. But that’s exactly what’s going to happen. In some cases, these legit product creators are now giving away their products because they know they can’t sell them anymore.

Would you REALLY want that to happen to YOU?

That’s why I say that when you create a product with a trademarked name in the title, you are playing with fire. Nobody saw this coming, though they should have. And now that it has, many people, some completely innocent, are going to lose tons of money…in some cases, their whole business.

So the next product you think of creating, think twice if you plan on using a trademarked name.

It just might save your business from going down the tubes in the process.
