SEO Tips – It’s All a Numbers Game
Filed under: Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money Online, seo; Tagged as: internet marketing strategies, internet marketing strategy, seo, strategic internet marketingNo CommentsSEO is a numbers game…plain and simple. Way too many people overcomplicate it. But in the long run, he who has the most real estate with the most relevant information… wins. Okay, this all sounds so simple, and in fact, it is. However, there are some tricks to getting those numbers. I’m going to share a couple with you in this article. This is nothing earth shattering, but it just might be something that you haven’t thought of.
As I said at the start, SEO is a numbers game. He who has the most real estate and can get it up the SERPs wins the war. There are many ways to do this. Problem is, most people go after the victory the hard way. They’ll take one piece of content, maybe a long article, and place it on their blog or site and call it a day. Instead of taking one long piece of content, why not break it up into tiny pieces?
For example, let’s say you have a very long article about cats. The article covers types of cats, feeding and care, training and other things. Instead of placing the whole article on one page, why not break it up into several pieces covering each sub topic separately? Then, what you do is take each separate piece and put it on a separate page on your site. You then pull out the individual keywords that apply to each section of the article and optimize the page for those keywords and also include the main keywords for the article in its entirety.
Then, the next thing you do is link each article part to the other article parts. This way, a visitor can access any of the other sub topics that they might be interested in. Make this as easy to do as possible using anchor text within the article and then links at the bottom of the article to the other sections.
This way, what happens is that the SERPs will index each individual page for the long tail keywords as well as the main keywords for the niche in general. Everything comes together in one nice, neat, big package.
You’ve just taken one piece of content and turned it into a number of pages, thus the numbers game that I’m talking about. Imagine doing this with 50 different articles. You could end up with hundreds of individual pages.
Like I said, SEO is a numbers game.
Just make sure you’re on the long end of those numbers.
