Well, just when you thought it was safe to go back on the Internet, it seems that the President of the United States has decided that something that ISPs have been doing for years, successfully, is something that HE now has to do himself…and this is NOT good. Sit back. I’m going to explain in brief what’s heading down the Internet information highway.

In a nutshell, the President of the United States is proposing a bill that will allow him to shut down the Internet should it be under attack. That means that YOUR business will be shut down with it. This is YOUR livelihood and YOUR welfare at risk here. Okay, let me explain why this bill is not only unnecessary but costly as all hell.

The ISPs themselves are MORE than equipped to handle any attacks on the Internet. They have been doing it successfully since the beginning of time. They are trained for this. To put this in the hands of the government is not only senseless but a waste of time and money. The problems it will cause are numerous to say the least. We don’t need anymore policing than we already have.

Okay, so why am I writing this article? Very simple. If you live in the United States, contact your senators and congressmen. Make it very clear to them that if they pass this bill that it will be the last one they pass in office as you won’t be voting for their reelection. Otherwise, we are going to be stuck with a bill that is going to make every Internet marketer’s life a living nightmare.

This has nothing to do with party affiliation. This has to do with YOUR right to privacy. As long as you’re conducting YOUR business in an ethical manner, obeying all laws, you should not have to be subjected to having it shut down on you without a moment’s notice. Imagine being in the middle of a big launch and our government decides that something is going on that warrants taking control of things. This can effectively cost billions of dollars in revenue world wide.
