Yesterday morning, I turned on the computer as usual and went to the Warrior Forum…only to find that it was down. So I tried a little later…and it was still down. This went on all day until I finally turned my PC off at around 10:30 PM. Now, before you think that I spent all day refreshing my browser, I didn’t. However, I am sure for some people, that’s EXACTLY what happened. Were you one of them? Did YOUR IM world end yesterday?

Okay, you’re probably wondering where I’m going with this article. Well, hang in there and you’ll find out. See, there is a lot to be learned from a day like yesterday. I’m going to cover a few of those things.

At the top of the list is this…never take anything for granted. So many of us go through our days thinking that things are going to be business as usual. If we had the Warrior Forum yesterday, there is no reason that we won’t have it today. Wrong! At any given moment, your world can be turned totally upside down. Google can change its algorithm and your site can disappear from the SERPs in a flash. Never take ANYTHING for granted…EVER.

Another thing yesterday taught us is that you can’t rely on any one thing for your income. I happen to know a lot of people who make their living from the Warrior Forum. Yesterday, those people made no money. It’s sad, but it’s true. One thing I have learned about Internet marketing is you MUST diversify. If you spend all your time and money on one thing and that thing suddenly goes away, what then? It’s a scary thought, I know. But it’s something that many people need to understand.

Finally, what yesterday taught us, at least if should have, is that you need to get a life if all you could think about was getting on the Warrior Forum. I had a great day yesterday. I went into my recording studio and transferred some of my old tunes from cassette to CD. It took me a few hours and kept me busy. Aside from that, I did a little work, went to the cemetery to visit my mom and then celebrated my wife’s birthday with her. The Warrior Forum being down did NOT kill my day.

So, did YOUR IM world end yesterday?

Mine sure didn’t.
