The New ClickBank Marketplace
1 CommentIn case you haven’t noticed, ClickBank just changed its marketplace. Some love it, some hate it. Either way, I’m going to give you the five cent tour of what I feel are some of the things that could probably be made better. I’m a big ClickBank lover but I think there are a few items that need to be addressed. I’m going to cover them in this article.
At the top of the list of things that I feel need to be changed is the obvious attention being directed to the commission percent of each product. Right now, it’s pretty much the main thing that people see. And normally, I’d say that’s fine. But there is a big problem with drawing attention to commission percent above everything else.
When somebody sees a high commission percentage they’re likely to choose that product over one that has a lower percentage. It’s human nature. However, let’s do the math. Let’s say that you have a $50 product that has a 75% commission attached to it. If you do the math, that comes out to $37.50 per sale. Now, let’s take a $100 product with a 50% commission. That comes out to $50 per sale. If somebody is just looking at high commission rates, they’re going to miss the latter product and miss out on an additional $12.50 per sale. I’m not saying that one stat should be highlighted over another (it never was) but doing this is giving affiliates a distorted picture.
Another thing that I think needs to be looked at is the number of items that you can display per view. In the old system, you could view up to 50 products at a time. This made finding a product go a lot faster. Now, you are limited to just 10 per view. Therefore, you have to spend more time initiating searches than you did with the old system. I am hoping they will put this functionality back in.
Finally, and to me this is a big thing, there is no longer the option to view just new products. As somebody who is constantly on the lookout for new products, this functionality was a must have. Now, there is absolutely no way to tell what products are new. You can’t really go by gravity or affiliate percentage of anything like that because there are plenty of old products that don’t sell. Hopefully, this will be rectified as well.
I won’t comment on the aesthetics of the site because how people think it looks is totally subjective. What’s one person’s beautiful is another person’s ugly. So I just restricted my comments to the actual functionality of the site. And yes, sticking that big old commission percentage up there like a bulls eye IS functionality. It all depends on how you look at it.
Anyway, head on over to the new marketplace and see what you think of it. If you think changes should be made, let ClickBank know. I’m sure they ultimately want a positive user experience for everybody.
To YOUR Success,
