So, you want to make a video and you want it to go viral real fast. Not a problem. By the time you’re done reading this article, you’ll be well on your way to creating a viral video that will have people talking about it for a long time to come. So pay attention.

First thing you have to realize is that videos that go viral are the ones that are unique, clever, and maybe even a little bit outrageous. Nobody is going to pass a video around of you sitting in your living room talking about the three critical aspects of article marketing, or whatever it is you’re teaching. Can you say boring? People want to see videos that are going to entertain them. Can’t think of any ideas? Go to YouTube.

Yes, go to YouTube. Look up the category of entertainment or humor and then look for those home made videos. No, not the ones where somebody is just uploading yesterday’s episode of whatever the hot new situation comedy is. I’m talking about the original off the wall videos of some guy doing a dance in the subway. Those of you who check these out often know exactly who I’m talking about. That series of videos is one of the most viral group of videos on the Internet.

After you’ve checked out some of the whacked out videos on YouTube, sit down and come up with an idea. Don’t censor yourself. Be as crazy as you can be. The stupider it is, the better it is. Trust me, stupid gets talked about a lot more than serious and dull. Heck, get your friends to help you with it. Tell them that they can even be in it.

After the video is done and uploaded, go to the social bookmarking sites like Digg and tell others about it. Make the description as vivid as you can. You really want to cause a stir and get people to go check out your new video. If it’s really crazy, they’ll do the rest and tell all THEIR friends about it. From there, it’s just one big snowball effect.
