One of the biggest complaints I hear from people who run a home business is that there is too much information out there and that they're suffering from information overload. Well, they'll get no argument from me on this one. There IS a lot of information out there and it's easy to get overwhelmed. However, you don't have to suffer from info overload. This article will help you get through it. There are a number of steps you can take that will make the assimilation of information easier on the brain. Of course if these don't work, there's always aspirin. The first step is to take a look at your business and see what it is that you feel you need to learn. Maybe you want to build a web site but don't know anything about HTML. Maybe you want to learn how to write a sales letter. Put all the things that you feel you need to learn on a list and number it from one to whatever. After you've done that, take the item that you feel is the most important to learn and start working on it. Pretend that there isn't anything else but that one thing to learn. As you are working on this one item, you want to further break IT down into sections because you don't want to learn it all at once. Your brain can only contain so much at a time. So take a little piece each day and get as much as you can out of that ONE piece as possible. With web design, it may be something as simple as figuring out how to use your HTML editor. When you have completely learned that first item, master it. Make sure that you can actually do what it is you set out to learn. Reading through a book means nothing if you can't apply the principles in it. So, for example, if you've just learned PPC, set up a small PPC campaign and see if you can get it to be somewhat profitable. It doesn't have to make you a fortune. Even if it makes you just a little money, that's fine. At least you've gotten to see that the principles you've learned you've actually LEARNED and know how to apply. Book smarts mean nothing. After you've convinced yourself that the item on your list has been sufficiently learned, cross it off and move on to the next item. Continue to do this until all the items on your list are crossed off. Now obviously, as time goes on, you will add new items to the list. That's fine. Just continue to do what you're doing. The key is, don't move onto the NEXT item until you've finished the one before it. If you follow this simple plan, you should never have to suffer from information overload again. A lot of people who run home businesses think that the only costs involved are the ones that come out of their pockets, such as web hosting, site design and so on. The truth is, there is more to the cost of a home business than what can be seen on a credit card statement each month. This article is going to dive into the real costs of a home business. I think you will find this an interesting read. Okay, let's start with the obvious. Yes, your home business costs DO begin with the things you spend money on, whether on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis. It's important to get a handle on each of these costs and when they have to be met. Cash flow is a serious problem for a lot of people. Without knowing what has to be paid for and when, you can get into a real bind. So the first thing you want to do is crack open the spread sheet and log in every single item that you spend money on. You want to then designate each one as daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. Then, you want to add up the costs for each time period. That way, you'll know just how much money you will need to have on hand for each day. And yes, there are some things that are daily expenses, such as when you run ads in forums that have to be paid for right away. For most people, that would be the end of this issue. But that's where, for most people, they would be wrong. See, there is another cost to doing business that most folks don't consider a cost but is. Their time. Oh how precious our time is. And most of us don't realize it until we are suddenly out of time, such as when a doctor tells us that we have some horrible disease and only have six months to live. Let me ask you a question. If you had only six months to live, would you spend your time doing all the things you're doing now for your business? If the answer is no, then that means you're doing things that are costing you more than you're willing to spend on them, time wise. You need to take a look at the things that you do. Are they productive? Do they bring you in enough of an income to justify doing them? For example. Let's say you perform certain advertising actions each take and these actions take up two hours of your time each day, adding up to 60 hours in a month. When looking at your bottom line, you determine that these 60 hours of work bring in $500 of income. That comes out to a little over $8 per hour. Isn't your time worth more than $8 per hour? I know mine is. If so, then it's quite possible that there are other things you can do that will be more profitable. Like it or not, your time has a cost associated with it. In some ways, time is more precious than money. You can get money back. You can't get time back. Don't ever forget that. A lot of people ask what the biggest benefit is of working from home. Well, I'm going to tell you. It's not having to rely on an automobile. I own a Honda CRV. The year is 2004. Just recently, the emissions light came on. I brought it to a Honda expert to get fixed. Well, it's been there for a week and they still have no idea what's wrong with the light. If they don't get it to go off, I won't pass inspection in October. In the meantime, I haven't had a car for a week. Now imagine if I had a regular job outside of the home. I'd never be able to go to work unless I sunk $20,000 into a new car. So, in my opinion, the biggest benefit to working from home is that you don't need a car. Okay, you're probably thinking to yourself, "That's really not enough of an incentive for me to want to start my own home business." Okay, fair enough. Maybe THIS will be incentive enough for you. When you have your own home business, you don't have to put up with a boss screaming at you all day long. You don't have to deal with the long commute to the office. You don't have to hope and pray that every year, when review time comes up, you get a raise. Heck, you don't have to worry that, when the economy goes bad, you end up losing your job. And, you don't have to spend money on gas, lunches, work clothes and a whole lot of other things that you don't need for a home business. Add to that the fact that you can get up WHEN you like and work WHEN you like and you have a virtual heaven in your living room, or wherever it is you have your computer. You can run out to the store when you like and if, for some reason, you have to go to the doctor or have some other appointment, you can come and go when you please and don't have to worry about getting time off from your job. In short, you don't have to put up with all the BS that people who have 9 to 5 jobs. Look, I've been on both sides of this equation. I've worked a 9 to 5 and I now have my own home business for over 7 years. I wouldn't go back to working for a boss if you put a gun to my head and threatened to pull the trigger. Yes, I'd rather be dead. All kidding aside, once you get up and running and know what you're doing, there is NOTHING like running your own home business...nothing. A lot of people think that once they start their own home business that, after time, it gets easier. In some ways, it does. But in many ways, it doesn't. In fact, in many ways, as you do this more and more, it gets harder and harder. What ways am I talking about? Well, keep reading this article and you'll find out. At the top of my list for things that don't get easier is technology. If you look back at what we had to work with seven years ago, when I first started, it was a fraction of what we have now. And with new technology comes a big learning curve. And when you're getting up in years, like me, it's harder to learn new things. That's why so many older people have trouble adapting to the Internet in general, though there are always exceptions. But make no mistake about it...technology only makes things tougher for those who aren't up to speed with it. But even beyond technology we have something that's even more difficult and it's something that most people don't think of until I remind them of it. It's called complacency. And make no mistake about it, we are all prone to it. Even I am, and I have one heck of a work ethic. If you think I'm kidding, take a look at all the articles I've written online. But trust me, I get days where the last thing I want to do is any more work. I already have more than I need, financially, and only continue doing this to keep from going crazy. But it does get harder to keep going at your old pace once you reach a point where you've had success. Finally, there is age itself. I don't care who you are but eventually, age catches up to all of us. I have had health issues that I've had to deal with for over 20 years now. And they're not going to get better as I age, just worse. Working through pain is tough when you're young. Try it when you're over 50, or 60, or 70. It doesn't get easier. My point is, while you might get more smarts as you do this longer, you will find that running your business still takes work and still takes its toll on your body, unless of course you just outsource the whole operation. Not many people, at least at the beginning, are in that position. And then there are outsourcing nightmares that you have to deal with. That's another kind of stress. So if you're thinking that this whole home business thing gets easier as you do it longer, think again. It isn't necessarily so. Wouldn't it be nice if nothing ever changed? We'd find something that works for our home business and all we'd have to do is just keep doing it. Heck, if we could put it on auto pilot and hang out on some tropical island somewhere, that would make our day complete. Unfortunately, home businesses and life don't work that way. The only thing constant in this world IS change. How we adapt to it will go a long way to determining how successful we are WITH our home business. This article explains. I don't know how long you've been at this, but I've been running my own home business for over seven years now and I can honestly tell you that I've seen more change than you can shake a stick at. For example. In the early days of pay per click advertising, costs were low and you could direct link to affiliate sites without any problems at all. But then, as Google began to get complaints from users that every ad they want to for a specific keyword was for the same page, they made changes to PPC. It isn't as easy as it was in the old days. Another example is in FTC regulations. There have been recent changes as to what you can and can't say on sales pages and how you now have to qualify testimonials. Documentation has to be provided if you claim specific results. Affiliates who promote affiliate products through reviews now have to state in their reviews that if the prospect purchases from them, they WILL receive a commission for the sale. This is one of the biggest changes in affiliate marketing since I can remember. And these two examples are just the tip of the iceberg. There have been, and there will continue to be, many changes as the years go by. How we adapt to these changes will determine our success. But okay, how DO we adapt to change? Some people don't know how. They simply throw their arms up in the air and surrender. Well, here's the best advice I can give you in regard to adapting to change. For starters, don't complain about it. It's wasted, negative energy. If it's a law or regulation, there is nothing you can do about it. You simply have to find a way to make the best of if. In the case of affiliate disclosure, what I do is offer an incentive for a person to purchase from me. That way, I can come right out and say that I'm getting compensated for their purchase. The incentive (maybe a bonus ebook or even my time) will make the compensation a non issue. Those are the things you have to do in order to adapt to change. You accept it and then look for a way to turn that negative into a positive. And remember, not all change is bad. Sometimes good things happen and we're so stunned we don't know how to deal with it. That's the kind of change I love. To YOUR Success, Steven Wagenheim Looking for a solid 4 step plan to building your own business...FREE? Home business owners think they know everything. The egos in this business amaze even me. So let me get this much out of the way before we even begin. I do NOT know everything. In fact, if I live to be a hundred, I'll never know everything there is to know about running a home business. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't try to get as much knowledge as you can. But back to the topic of this article. Did you know? Not sure? Keep reading and you'll find out. Did you know that 97% of people who start their own home business fail within the first two years? It's true. There are more home business failures than Carter has liver pills. But why? Why is it that so many people fail? Is it that we're too stupid to run a home business? I don't believe that. I think mankind, on the whole, is pretty smart. Well, outside of maybe the folks who hang out in underwater pole vaulting clubs. But that's another story. Probably the reason that so many people fail with their home business is because they're not prepared to run one. Preparation requires several things. At the top of that list is knowledge. I don't care how hard a worker you are. If you don't have the knowledge and the correct tools to do the job, you're not going to get very far. For example, take somebody who is absolutely determined to cut down a tree. I don't care how strong or determined that person is. If they don't have the proper tools and know how to use them, that tree isn't going anywhere. Having said that, determination and commitment are also important. Most people really don't know what it takes to make a business successful. When they find out what's involved, they realize that maybe they don't have the intestinal fortitude to get the job done. I can't tell you how many people I've met who have said to me that they'd do anything to get the job done but then when push came to shove, they weren't up to it. It was too much work for them. Another reason home businesses fail is because many people get into businesses that have no real demand. There is no money to be made in them. Take my joke about underwater pole vaulting. Do you really think if somebody, even as a joke, decided to try to sell information on underwater pole vaulting that they'd make ANY money at all in this market? Okay, that's an extreme example, but trust me...there are markets out there that are very limited in their income opportunity. How do you avoid getting into markets like that? You do your research. You actually look to see if there are enough people online who care about what you're selling. By using simple keyword tools, this is easy enough to do. But way too many people don't take the time to do that one simple thing. Again, this goes back to the problem of people not REALLY willing to do what it takes to make their home business successful. If you're spinning your wheels with YOUR home business, you might find the answer why somewhere above. If you are reading this article, I am going to assume that you are on the verge of quitting your home business. You've given it a go and you're not making any money. Maybe you've been at it for weeks or even months. It doesn't matter. You've reached the breaking point and you're ready to throw in the towel. Well, before you do that, you might want to read this article. I think it will help you a great deal. The reasons why you've failed up to this point don't matter. Trust me, there are way too many of the possible reasons to get into here. And yes, everybody is different. In fact, I've identified 25 different reasons why people fail at their home business. But like I said, the reason you're failing, up to this point, doesn't matter. What DOES matter is that we get you back on the right track. So the first thing you want to do is scrap everything you've done so far. That's right. Tear down all your sites. I don't care how long you've had them. They're obviously not doing you any good so there is no point in keeping them. Right off the bat, this is going to free up a lot of expenses such as web hosting and advertising. Another reason why you want to do this is because it will clear up your head. You're removing all the baggage that you've carried with you the last X number of months. Next thing you want to do is sit down with a pen and a piece of paper and write down all the things that you're truly interested in or have knowledge of. Too many people jump into businesses that they have absolutely no interest in. Believe it or not, it's hard to put in the work needed to make a business succeed when you have no real love for what you're doing. I've been doing this for over seven years because I truly love what I do. I love helping people. If the love isn't there, it's hard to get motivated. Finally, you want to TOTALLY research each of your interests to see which ones are most likely to bring you an income. Some interests are very hard to monetize because there is nothing to sell OR the products are so cheap that you'd have to sell a ton of them to make any real money at all. There is no point getting into something if there is no money in it...even if you DO love what you're doing. Yes, it's a double edged sword, but that is the reality of running a home business. The key to this whole process is clearing your head. Sit down and think about why you want to do this. Too many people do it because they HAVE to do it, usually because of financial problems. It's a bad reason to start a business. Starting a business should be done because it's something you WANT to do. So yes, after reading this article, you may be even more convinced that quitting is the right thing for you. But at least NOW you'll be quitting for the right reason. Quite a few people tell me that they want to make X number of dollars per day with their home business. When I ask them how they intend to do that, they can't give me an answer other than that's what they want to earn. Well, dreaming is nice, but income goals have to be based on some kind of reality. In this article, I'm going to give you one way of coming up with that reality. You may not like the answers you get here, but at least you'll know what you're up against. First step is to actually decide on a niche that you want to get into such as health, debt, entertainment or whatever. Focus as tightly as you can on one specific thing in that niche like acne, warts, moles or some specific problem in the niche. You don't want to spread yourself too thin here because that's going to make it harder to get a foot hold in the market. Pick one thing and go after it. Next step is to find out roughly how many people are looking for solutions to that problem each month. You do this by going to the Google keyword tool and looking up all relevant keywords to that niche. Let's for argument sake say that you find a niche that has 100,000 monthly searches for all relevant "buying" keywords. What I mean by "buying" keywords are keywords that give a good indication that the person typing them is has money to spend and is willing to spend it. After that, you want to size up the competition by going to the Google search engine. You want to at least make it into the top 10 sites in order to have a fair chance of getting a portion of those 100,000 monthly searches. You're not going to get them all or even a majority of them UNLESS you can get a top position. Let's for argument sake say that you think you can crack the top 10 and get about 10% of those monthly searches. That's 10,000 hits a month to your web site. Finally, you want to look at the product you're selling. How much will you get paid for each sale? Let's assume that it's $25 per sale and the product converts at a modest 2%. That means that on your 10,000 monthly hits, you're going to sell 200 of these. That's pretty much what I did with my first ebook back in 2006. At $25 per sale, that's $5,000 a month income. Now, if your goal was to make five figures a month, well, you're not going to do it with this niche alone or with this product. You have two choices. You can add another niche to the mix OR you can sell a product for twice as much money, assuming the same conversion. Point is, you can't get $10 worth of ham out of a five pound bag. There you have it. A simple way to figure out if your income goal is based on reality. Try it. You might find out that it works pretty well. Did you ever go to a movie or a play, expecting to see this great performance, only to walk out of the theater scratching your head and thoroughly disappointed? Well, a lot of home business owners get that same feeling after they begin to tackle their business and find that expectations and reality don't always jive. In this article, I'm going to explain to you why that is and what you can do to fix the problem. Okay, so why is it that so often when we start out in our home business journey that we end up being bitterly disappointed? The main reason is because we venture into our business without a plan. We have some pie in the sky vision of what we want to make but it's not based in any kind of reality. Okay, I can hear you saying "But I don't know how to make a business plan." Well, while I can't go through a complete business planning course in this article, I can give you some pointers. Whatever it is you want to do, the first thing you need to do is see what kind of a demand for your product or service there is. How do you do this? It's really quite simple. Head on over to Google's keyword tool and look up some keywords related to your proposed business. Let's say you want to sell pet supplies. You might look up keywords like, "pet supplies for sale", "where can I buy pet supplies" and so on. Total up all the monthly search figures for each keyword. Now, let's say after doing your keyword research you discover that there are 100,000 monthly searches for all the related keywords to your business. Great! Let's for argument sake say that you are going to get about 1% of that market. That means you're going to get roughly 1,000 visitors to your site a month. Now, let's say that your average conversion percentage is about 2%. That means you're going to sell about 20 products a month. Now, let's say that your average product sale is $20. That means you're going to make about $400 a month from this business. If you were planning to make $4,000 a month from this business, you are obviously going to be very disappointed, provided the above estimates are fairly accurate. So, in this case, you have one of three things you can do. You can revise your expectations, in order to avoid disappointment; you can decide to go into a new business entirely OR you can add another business to your model in order to make the $4,000 that you originally planned on making. Point is, wanting something doesn't make it so. If the demand isn't there, you can't create it. And there is only so much of a market you're going to get when you're first starting out. You need to build trust before you start getting a larger share. Yes, unfortunately, when expectations meet with reality, the end result is often not pleasant. By following my simple advice above, you can avoid walking away from your business plan with a long face. Lidocaine and eclipse and ball, This might be one of the most commonly asked questions when it comes to starting a home business. It goes something like this. "Should I start a home business based on what I love or should I just pick a market that is high in demand?" At one time, I would have given a definitive answer to this question, but now...it really depends on what your priorities are and your tolerance to boredom. Don't worry, this article is going to explain in excruciating detail.

Okay, I talked about priorities, so let's get to them. If your main purpose for starting a home business is to make as much money as you can and you don't care if you have to make funny faces into a web cam all day to do it, then by all means...pick something that you know is going to make money and the heck with how much or little you love it, lidocaine and eclipse and ball.

However, if you are concerned that you might get so sick of your business because you're doing something that you have absolutely no interest in, then you might want to give the above paragraph a little thought. Because let me tell you something...doing anything that you really can't stand doing can really wear on you after a while. It may take you a week, lidocaine ph, a month, a year or even five years, but eventually...you'll reach the point where you're screaming outside your living room window and begging somebody to end it all.

Which category do you fall into. Lidocaine and eclipse and ball, I have no idea. In fact, you may not even know yourself until you try. And therein lies the problem of taking the chance on doing something different. So, in order to reduce your risk of taking on a business that eventually drives you bonkers, here is a tip that just might help a lot.

Whatever it is you've decided to do, assuming it's something just for the purpose of making money, do a little research on the topic first. Read some articles, lidocaine and eclipse and ball. Lidocaine and pregnancy, Go to some sites. Maybe even buy a product or two to see if it's something that interests you. You can actually develop a love for something that you never even knew existed before. However, if after all your research, you find that you absolutely can't stand the topic, don't get involved unless you're SURE you can deal with the boredom. Lidocaine and eclipse and ball, And that includes being able to handle customer requests, complaints or whatever. There are aspects of running a business that are unpleasant even when you DO enjoy what you're doing. Imagine how unpleasant they can be if you have no interest in what you're selling.

Like I said, nobody can really answer this question for you. But by doing a little research on your chosen market, to see if it's something you can get into. you will save yourself a lot of grief down the road.

To YOUR Success, 25 dextrose .5 lidocaine,
