Oh well, another big product launch has come and gone. I’m talking of course about Frank Kern’s List Control. Well, I’m going to tell you something about it that most people either won’t recognize or won’t admit even if they did. I think you’ll find this article quite interesting to say the least.
First off, let me say that I think Frank Kern has a wonderful stage presence. Ever watch one of his videos? I could watch him for hours. That takes talent. Anyway, I was watching his video on List Control and I noticed something interesting. When he started talking about what people would learn from the product, I noticed that the individual ingredients were no different from any other massive product on Internet marketing. In fact, I didn’t find much difference between this product and Traffic Secrets, Nitro Blueprint or any of the other comprehensive marketing products. So what makes this one different?
To answer that question, one needs to look only to the title of the product itself…List Control. The focus is on building a list. And even though in order to do this you need to have many other aspects of marketing in place, such as traffic generation, copywriting and so on, the focus leads one to believe that even though everything that you’ve seen in every other massive product on market is in THIS product…this one is different because of the focus.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that this product isn’t good. It is probably excellent. But the brilliance here is in the marketing of it. This is something that YOU as a marketer should make a note of the next time you come up with your OWN product. What’s the focus going to be? How are you going to make your wheel different from all the other wheels that have come before it?
Let’s be honest here. There is nothing new under the sun. Everything is just a spin off of something else that came before it. And that’s fine as long as it has value. Two people can explain article marketing to a single person and that person can totally understand the one person and totally misunderstand the other. It’s not always the content of the message but HOW it’s delivered that makes all the difference in the world.
Point is, don’t expect to find anything revolutionary in Frank’s new product. However, given his reputation and the quality of his work, expect it to be of value and possible use to you IF learning to build a responsive list is something that you feel will help you.
There you go. Something you DIDN’T know about List Control.
Or did you?

Let me start out by saying that this is NOT a sales pitch for Frank
Kern’s List Control. There is no affiliate link below. For that
matter, there is no link to his site…PERIOD. And no, I’m not
offering any bonuses to get it from me.Quite simply…I don’t do the big boy launch thing because it’s
just not my thing. But…there is a lesson to be learned from this that NOBODY else is
going to teach you. It has to do with product creation. And the
truth is…it’s right in front of your nose but you probably didn’t
notice it because of how Frank engineers his campaigns. So I am going to strip List Control naked for you so you can see
just what it is Frank has done.If you saw the video, then you pretty much know the pitch. He talks
about List Control and what it’s going to effectively do for
you…teach you how to build a response list that buys from you.But here is what you probably didn’t see.
During the course of the video, Frank starts talking about all the
“parts” to List Control and how it works. And as I listened, I
noticed something that was so obvious that I couldn’t imagine how
nobody else caught it.He talks about best places to get free advertising and traffic
He talks about pay per click
He talks about content creationAnd so on.
Suddenly what I realized is…
This product is no different from any other “comprehensive”
marketing product that’s ever come out. It’s no different from PLF
or Traffic Secrets or Nitro Marketing or any other course of this
magnitude. What Frank has done to make this different is he’s focused on ONE
aspect of the marketing arena, found a hook for it, and made that
the selling point…”List Control”.Sure, that’s the ultimate end goal…to build a list. But in order
to do that, you still need all the basic marketing tools that every
other course before this has gone over to death.Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that Frank’s product isn’t good.
Knowing Frank, it’s great. But imagine how ho hum this would have
been if he packaged it as just another “home study course”.This is hook advertising at its finest…make no mistake about it.
The lesson for you is simple.
If you EVER want to create your own product…for any niche…take
a look at all the components and find a hook. For example, let’s say you were writing a complete course on chess.
You might want to focus on the end result that most people are
looking for…winning in tournaments. To that end, you might call your product “Chess Tournament Buster”
or something to that effect. The focus is going to be on showing chess players how to kill at
tournaments…while still giving them the same basic info that
they’re going to need just to play the game such as rules, chess
openings, strategies, mid and end games and so on.It will really be no different from a comprehensive book on chess
except the focus is going to be on winning tournaments. If you take a look at some of the big product launches of the last
5 years, you will see the same pattern. They are nothing more than basic principles surrounded by a killer
hook that gets people excited. It’s called marketing.
Okay, so don’t ever forget that there is still a man behind that
curtain and all the smoke and mirrors in the world can’t cover up
what’s really going on.Just another twist on a solid comprehensive marketing product.
Like I said, knowing Frank, it’s probably great and maybe even
worth the $1,997 price tag. But dollars to donuts, I probably know
most if not everything in that package. And considering I’m already
earning 6 figures a year, for me, it would be nothing more than a
business expense. But I have no doubt that for some people, they’ll get a lot out of
it.Provided they don’t already have something similar.
And make no mistake about it…There is no wheel being reinvented
here.Sincerely,
Steven Wagenheim
