One of the top make money online blogs was deep sixed by Google just a few days ago.

www.moneymakerinfo.blogspot.com is no more, and it really has to make you wonder if anybody who hosts a blog on Blogspot, at least in the make money niche, is safe.

I admittedly have quite a few blogs hosted with Blogspot, but most of them are actually outside of the make money online niche.

Thank God I don’t rely on much income from them.

But this recent canning really has to make one wonder and maybe even reevaluate their business model. Certainly nobody can really feel secure having Google in control of their hard work.

So, here is what I suggest if you can afford it.

1. Get your own hosting and a domain in your niche.

2. Setup a WordPress blog. This way, you don’t have to worry about some third party pulling the rug out from under you on a whim.

3. Start a campaign warning people about using Blogspot as their platform. If the word gets around enough, and Google loses enough income from it (I am sure Adwords revenue will drop like a stone in a dead lake) they might start to reconsider their position on legit blogs.

Honestly, I have no idea what’s up Google’s behind when they pull a boneheaded move like this on one of the most popular blogs over the past 4 years. But somebody, somewhere, screwed the pooch on this one.

Thank God these guys don’t have their fingers over the nuke button.

Personally, I’m done with putting up anymore Blogspot blogs. If the money I’m going to make from my niche can’t even pay the hosting and domain fees for a year, then I’m no marketer.

I honestly feel for the guy who just saw 4 years of hard work go down the tubes. If it were me, I’d be on the phone with a lawyer. At the very least, I’d make the biggest public stink about it since fans were up in arms about Star Trek being canceled.

Some final words. And take these for what they’re worth to you. If you think you are above this happening to you, think again. That was one heavy duty blog that just got sent to the IM graveyard.

No doubt, this is going to be big news for a while and then it will die down…people will forget…and they’ll go back to trusting the company whose motto is “do no evil.”

Do no evil my ass.

Well, it took him over a year to finally nail me down, but tonight at 7:30 PM EST time (January 10, 2010) Vegas Vince is going to be asking me the tough questions.

What Vince doesn’t know is that I’ve got a few surprises up my sleeve as well. So if you want to hear a radio show that you won’t soon forget, tune in tonight. And if you miss it, don’t worry, it will be taped and you’ll be able to listen at your convenience.

I plan on discussing some of the things about this business that many people are not aware of. Trust me, not all is as it seems. I won’t say more than that now. You’ll just have to tune in to find out.

So until tonight (that’s 7:30 PM EST January 10, 2010) you have yourself a great day.

Sincerely,

This month George Sepich and I are going to be launching Niche Toolkit. Quite honestly, it’s the most comprehensive membership I have ever seen at this price point. I have to give George most of the credit because he’s the brains behind it. I’m really just along for the ride as a writer and marketing “expert”. And I do use that term loosely as I am always still learning things.

And yes, Niche Toolkit is without a doubt truly special.

But is it right for YOU?

Interesting question, don’t you think? Especially coming from one of the creators. You’d think I’d be here giving you a sales pitch for this thing. Well, those of you who know me know that I hate sales pitches. Sometimes I wonder if I’m really cut out for this business. But that’s another issue altogether and one I’ll tackle another time.

But let’s get back to the question.

Is it right for YOU?

Guess what? Only YOU can answer that.

In order for you to be able to answer that question, let me give you the 2 cent tour of what Niche Toolkit is about and what it will also be about in the future.

The first module of Niche Toolkit is the training program. George and I are basically sharing all our years of marketing experience here. For me, that’s over 6 years. For George, it’s a lot longer. He’s been doing this stuff since the dawn of Internet time. I’m the young pup here.

The training alone is so comprehensive that it is probably worth the price of admission by itself. The training section is broken up into monthly modules because we don’t want to overwhelm everybody with a whole lot of stuff at one time. The traning runs for 12 months, so essentially this is a 12 month membership in that regard, though you may want to remain longer and I will explain why next.

In addition to the comprehensive training, each member gets their own site. This site is going to be a HUGE marketplace to sell a variety of products through Clickbank. Each niche has been thoroughly researched to make sure that there isn’t too much competition in it and each product has been tested to sell. NO, these are NOT IM related niches. They are non money making products.

The member sites will be promoted BY US. They will be circulated through a rotator so that everybody gets equal exposure. Naturally, any additional advertising YOU do is going to help.

Whatever you sell…you keep 100% of the profits.

But there’s more.

You’ll also be given a number of MRR products to sell as well, again, keeping 100% of each sale. These will be sold through your own PayPal account.

Naturally, if you don’t have access to Clickbank and PayPal, this membership is only going to be so helpful to you. Just wanted to be straight about that up front.

There will also be an affiliate program where you will get a percentage of every sign up through your page.

There is also a members forum. Here you will be able to ask any questions about the training materials or anything for that matter, and get them answered.

We will also be doing webinars where you can speak with us live.

In the future, as the site grows, we’ll be selling advertising space and the members will be sharing in the ad revenue.

At this is just the tip of the iceberg.

George is a fanatic on overdelivering. He wants this to be the most amazing membership site ever put together. So far, I think it beats anything I’ve ever seen, but he’s just getting started.

He’s also added hundreds of products from his Grab Bag membership that you will have access to. That alone is a $27.77 a month membership.

I could go on with all the plans that George has but then this article would be 5,000 words long.

So let me cut to the chase.

This membership will be going for $97 a month.

However, those who get in early (and we are limiting these to 250 seats) can get in for just $47 monthly. That’s 52% off the regular price.

If we fill all 250 slots, we are seriously considering closing the doors until people drop out. This will further increase the value of this membership.

All in all, for somebody just starting out, this is a heck of a jump start. I wish I had this opportunity when I first began. The training alone would have made it worth it. But with everything else George has added, this is a no brainer.

Those of you who know me know how important my reputation is to me. And therefore, I would never risk it on something that did not deliver. It’s just not worth it.

But…is Niche Toolkit right for YOU?

Well, you basically know what you’re getting. And quite honestly, the description above doesn’t come close to doing this justice, but you know how I hate hype.

The question that you need to answer is simple.

Is this something that YOU can use?

To help you answer that, here are some questions you might want to ask yourself.

1. Do I need the training?
2. Will having a site made for me help save me time and money?
3. Do I have the time to put into this or will I just be wasting money?
4. Am I dedicated enough to put in the effort?
5. Does this site fit in with my business plan if I have one?

You might think of other questions you can ask yourself that are more specific to your circumstances.

Bottom line…I want you to make the right decision for you.

The 250 seats, at this price, WILL go. There is no question about that. You have to decide if you want to be a part of it.

Fair enough?

If you have ANY questions about this membership that I haven’t answered, please feel free to post them to this thread. All questions are moderated so only relevant ones will be allowed to remain and given answers to.

I’m trying to avoid SPAM.

Or, if you prefer, you can email me at the email address on my main site at:

http://www.stevewagenheim.com/

Just put “Niche Toolkit Questions” in the subject.

I really DO want you to make the right decision for YOU.

If you want to sign up, here is the URL:

Sincerely,

I don’t usually review products, but in this case, I am going to make an exception. By now, you have probably heard of 20 Ways To Make 100 Dollars A Day. Maybe not. In either case, I’m going to give you the straight scoop on the product so that you can make an informed decision about purchasing it or not.

The book is 247 pages long. It contains 20 case studies of real people, not gurus, who are using various methods to earn at least 100 dollars a day. Some are making a lot more, but everybody in the book is making at least that much.

Some of the names you will probably recognize. Some may draw an absolute blank. The author who put these case studies together really did a great job of getting hold of a diverse lot.

The methods discussed for generating this income run a wide scale. There is info product creation, selling on Ebay, software creation, membership sites, short term and long term plans, affiliate marketing and so on. I can’t think of anything that has been left out. There is certainly something in this book for everyone.

Pros – The book is very well written. All the methods are written in an easy to follow, step by step process, which is how I create my own products. This is one of the most attractive features of the book. Most of the methods don’t require a large capital outlay to do. Some require almost no money at all. There are some excellent tips in the book on how to put a business together, whatever model you choose, without going broke in the process.

Cons – There is almost no mention of advertising methods, which is critical for any business. The book is more focused on how to create a business, rather than how to promote it. So without promotional knowledge, this book will only be so much help to you. Also, because there are 20 methods and it’s only 247 pages, some of the methods don’t go into a lot of detail. So it’s not for beginners, at least in my opinion.

Overall, I give it an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. It’s not perfect and I wish there was more focus on how to actually promote your business, but overall, it’s a good read. Even I learned a few things and I’ve been doing this for a few years now. If you’re not totally new to marketing online, you will probably get more out of this book than a total newbie. But even those first starting out will get some great ideas out of this book. Just pick up a book on advertising methods and you’ll be fine.

To YOUR Success,

There’s more than one way to skin a cat, or in Internet marketing terms, there’s more than one way to find out what your target market is looking for when searching for information online. One of the best ways to find out what your target market wants is with something called the “fly catcher technique.” In this article, we’re going to explain what the fly catcher technique is, how to use it effectively and what pitfalls you need to be careful of when putting this technique into action, because if used improperly, it can lead to problems. Hopefully, after reading this article, you’ll have a very good idea of how to add the fly catcher technique to your arsenal.

In a nutshell, what the fly catcher technique is, is getting people to opt into your newsletter, not for the purpose of selling to them, but for the purpose of surveying them. You’re going to get them to opt in and then send them emails asking them just what it is that they’re looking for when it comes to whatever problem it is that they’re trying to solve. For example, let’s say that your niche is acne cures. You need to find out from these people just what it is that they’re looking for in a cure. Do they want something natural? Are they looking for something that if they apply, won’t be visible? Do they want something that covers up as it works? Once you’ve gotten all your feedback, you can then go ahead and create the product that people are looking for.

There are many ways to go about putting this technique into action. Probably one of the best ways is to use Google Adwords. The reason this is such an effective method is because people who click on Adwords ads are specifically looking for a solution to that problem. They are ready to buy. They are your prime market. You will get the best responses from these people because they know exactly what they want. The more targeted your audience, the better your response will be.

The main thing you have to be careful about when using this technique is to carefully analyze your responses. You’re going to get some back that either just don’t make sense or aren’t practical. For example, you might get a response from somebody saying that they want a free home remedy. This is somebody who is looking for something that they’re not going to find. Writing a free ebook on a home remedy does nothing for your bank account. So you need to ignore responses like these. However, if you find that a great number of responses are looking for a free remedy, then that means that you probably aren’t going to have a sellable item here.

The fly catcher technique is one of the best methods for doing market research. Used correctly, it can save you countless hours in product creation.

To YOUR Success,

One of the many things that really burns me up about network marketing is when people say things like “It’s a numbers game” or “Some will, some won’t, so what?” If there was ever more insipid advice given to new marketers, I sure don’t know what it is. The truth is, neither of these statements is true. It’s all about reading people. While the subject of reading people is a complex one, this article will begin to touch on some basics. In later articles, we’ll go into more detail.

There have been many studies done on the different personalities of people in this world. My favorite one is the study that divides people up into color groups. I’m not talking about skin color. I’m talking about the color of their personalities. Now, if this concept sounds a little odd to you, it’s actually a pretty widely known concept among network marketers, especially the ones who are experts in their fields. That’s why it drives me so crazy when these same people come out with phrases like the ones in my introductory paragraph. Talk about talking out of both sides of your mouth.

The concept of personality color is really very simple. Each individual personality has certain characteristics. Some people may have a personality where they are very money oriented. These people are used to doing business, usually very successful, but also are used to being in charge. They need to be the one giving the orders. They view their network as drones in a bee hive whose sole purpose is to work under him. Donald Trump is a good example of this kind of personality. Well, this personality type is given a color.

There are various color models. The one I like the best is the four color model of red, blue, green and yellow. The basic principal and philosophy is that all people are really made up of all four colors. Each person, however, has a different mix of color personalities. For example, Donald Trump would be mostly red, as red is the color most dominant for a person who is a leader and a fierce competitor as Donald Trump is. However, Trump has a softer side to himself which is exemplified by the charity work that he does. This is because of the other colors that make up his whole personality.

What does all this have to do with reading people? When you are trying to recruit somebody into your network, you have to be able to read their dominant characteristics in order to know how to approach them. For example, somebody who is a real go getter needs to know the income potential of your program. The bottom line is all they care about. For those who are more team players, you’ll need to stress how the people in your program help each other. Mention the support structure and other things that point to community.

In future articles, we’ll go into more detail on the different personality types and how to read them.

I admit it. As much as I try to help home business owners, I may be doing them a disservice at times. Why? Well, if you read through my many articles on this subject, you’ll find that I’ve shared quite a few tips on running an Internet business. The problem is, there is only so much information that one person can cram into their head. After a while, you get all tipped out. It’s also known as information overload. Perhaps you’re there right now. Well, if you are, this article is going to give you some great tips on how to weed through all that info and make the most of it. Yeah, more tips. Isn’t it kind of ironic?

Okay, the first thing you have to do is organize all your information into categories. For example, you may have tips on doing just that, organizing your business. You may have tips on how to advertise, create products and so on. Make sure that each topic is in its own folder. This way, you can easily find something if you need it. Now, if you haven’t done this at all, it’s going to take some time, especially if you’ve been at this for a while. But eventually, you’ll get everything in order and adding new info will be a snap.

Next on the list is to do just that…make a list. This list is going to consist of the things that you want to learn in order. In other words, you’re going to have the most critical items at the top of the list so that you can go over them first. This will make it so that you don’t waste a lot of time going over items that aren’t very helpful to you. This will also make it so that you can focus on items that relate to each other. For example, let’s say you want to go over advertising for a week. You can organize AdWords on day one, article marketing on day two and so on.

Finally, you want to make an actual schedule for all this information that fits in with your daily routine. You don’t want to spend too much time learning unless you’re really just starting out and can’t do anything else. However, if you’re in the middle of your business, you want to make sure that you spend the majority of your time actually working on your business and taking action. So maybe just spend an hour or so a day on learning. Once that hour is up, you put the tips away and start being productive.

If you can follow these three simple steps, you’ll find that your business will run a lot smoother and you’ll learn a lot more in the process.

Well, it’s rant time again. So if you don’t want to hear it, you know where the big X is on the top right hand corner of your browser. This is something that burns me up to no end and the bottom line to it is people not taking responsibility for their own business. Well, you’re going to get an earful in this article and a true story. Hopefully, you will learn something about it.

I was scanning through one of the forums I belong to and I saw a topic that read “Major Registrar Blunder”. Well, I was curious as to what it was. I won’t mention any names, but it seems that this domain registration service didn’t send a reminder to the customer that his domain was about to expire. Well, the domain lapsed and right now it’s sitting there with a good old parked page while this guy is losing thousands of dollars in sales each day.

Well, serves him right. Who in their right mind leaves something as important as renewing their domain in the hands of the registrar? I don’t. The second thing I open up everyday, after my ISP program, is my spreadsheet program. The first thing I look at when I go there is my to do list for the day. Know what the second thing is that I look at? You got it. My list of domains and when they’re set to expire. I then make sure that I begin the necessary procedure for renewing at least two months in advance, if I can.

Fanatic? Maybe. But you won’t find me losing a domain because I forgot to renew it. And thus comes the point of my article. You MUST take responsibility for YOUR business. That means not depending on a registrar to send you a reminder that your business is about to go down the tubes if you don’t pay your $8 or whatever it costs per year. I’m sorry, but there is NO excuse for letting this happen. And not only with your domains, but with every part of your business. You are ultimately responsible for everything. Leaving it in the hands of others is suicide.

I hope you will take this as a friendly warning because if what happened to this person happens to you, don’t expect to get my sympathy. If you can’t behave responsibly and take care of your own affairs then maybe you don’t belong in business to begin with.

To YOUR Success,

If you’re going to launch a new product, at least do it right. I have seen so many botched product launches that I sometimes wonder if these “gurus” really know what the heck they’re doing. No more than 60 seconds after the site goes live and the server crashes or some other unforeseen thing goes down. It’s almost like you’d think this was all planned. Ironically, some people think it is. Well, in a way it is…due to poor planning.

See, mega product launches product mega traffic. And there is only so much traffic you’re going to be able to fit into one server with limited bandwidth. Eventually, something has to give. And trust me, it’s not going to be your prospects backing off. They’re in such a frenzy to get your product that they’d stomp over their own grandmothers to do so. Therefore, proper planning is in order if you’re going to have a product launch go off without a hitch, or at least with as few hitches as possible.

In order to prevent disaster, the first thing you really should do…and this has nothing to do with your launch partners…is get together with your hosting company and make sure that everything is being done to minimize the chances of something going wrong. This will require you to let them know how much traffic you expect to get and how quickly. See, it’s the mad rush at one time that actually brings things to a screeching halt. I don’t want to turn this into a technical brief so let’s just say you can’t stuff 10 pounds of pastrami into a 5 pound bag. Eventually, the bag bursts and the server goes down.

The reality is, you may need to spread your launch out over several servers. Have your sales page on one, your order page on another and maybe put your videos on yet another server or two. It’s the videos that really bring things to a halt because they’re what takes up most of the bandwidth. Unfortunately, video is a big thing today and not using it is going to leave money on the table.

Naturally, in addition to all this, you want to make sure that your launch partners are all on the same page with you, meaning that emails go out when they’re supposed to and everything is in sync. The greatest hardware setup in the world is meaningless without the marketing that goes with it.

Concentrate on the above items and you should have a product that launch that doesn’t end up on the front page of “Biggest Failures Magazine” and your face covered with egg.

To YOUR Success,

So, you’re building your list and you’re wondering if you’re treating them right. Well, quite honestly, if you have to ask, you probably aren’t. Let me tell you from experience, with all the competition out there today, it is very hard to get people to stay on your list unless you treat them right. Having said that, I am going to give you a few tips that will have your list thanking you every single day. You might want to make a note of these.

At the top of the list, no pun intended, is to not constantly hound them with sales pitches. People are sick of being sold to. They get it on the TV with all the infomercials and they get it in their email box with all the spam they get, not to mention the lists that they’re on that do nothing BUT send them sales pitches. It’s okay to sell. That’s what we’re about. But we don’t have to do it every single day of the week. So please, ease off just a little bit. Your list will thank you for it.

In addition to not selling them the farm every second of the day, you want to provide them with quality content. I’m not talking about some dribble that you can get off of a cocktail napkin either. I’m talking about giving them something that will really help them with their problem…whatever it is. So let’s say you have a product that has 10 ways to do something, whatever that something is. Why not give them two or three of those ways in your newsletter as a show of good faith? Trust me, they’ll thank you for it.

Finally, you want to make it as easy for them to unsubscribe as possible. That means not putting the link to opt out 10 inches below your signature. Oh yes, there are marketers who do this and it drives me crazy. The only thing you’re going to do to your list is tick them off. If you treat them with respect, they just might opt into your list again some day.

Take the above tips to heart. They just may save your list AND your business.

To YOUR Success,
