Everything You’ll Need To Run A Successful Home Business

When all is said and done, if you’re going to start a successful business, that business begins with a solid foundation. And that foundation is dependent on the niche that you ultimately decide to get into. Unfortunately, very few people really know how to do niche research and because of this, they end up getting into one that has no demand and ultimately no opportunity for success. Well, this article is going to give you some nuts and bolts of niche research so that you’ll have a fighting chance to make something of your business.
The first thing you need to do is get used to the tools that you have to use. These tools come in the form of keyword and competition research. For keyword research, there are sites you can go to, free of charge, that will tell you how many searches there are per month (some per day) for any given keyword. This is important as a starting point because it will give you an idea of how many people are interested in your niche and are looking for information in it.
The competition search comes in the form of simply using the search engines. The best one to use is Google because it reaches 50% of the Internet population and thus will give you a pretty good representation of what’s out there as far as competition. By typing in the same keywords that you used to find monthly searches, you’ll find out how many competing sites that are out there that match those keywords. If there is too much competition or too little demand, the niche itself may be hard to break into.
Another important part, and maybe the most important part, is determining if these searches are being made by people who have money to spend. Some people are simply looking for free information and if it’s out there, the chances of them spending money on a solution to their problem are slim to none. So you need to dig into the mind set of these people…and that takes some doing.
If you’re getting the idea that the whole process is not that simple, you’re right. There is a lot involved to doing niche research. Well, in my signature is a totally free resource that will show you exactly how to do niche research so that there is no confusion.
If you want to launch a successful business, your foundation is the most important part.
And that foundation starts with niche research.

Ah the all elusive killer niche. You know the one that I’m talking about. The one where a million people are looking for a solution to it each day and there is just nobody providing that solution but you. Well, we all know that the above scenario is a dream and isn’t likely to happen. However, there are some things you can do that will greatly improve your chances of finding just the right niche for you so that you can get more than your fair share of the market. This article will share my personal three keys to this problem.
The first key is what I call reverse lookup. Not a lot of people do this, but it is one of the most effective ways to find a niche that doesn’t have a lot of competition. Okay, what exactly do I mean by reverse lookup? Instead of looking for a keyword or keyword phrase first, you look for a product that is already selling. The best place to start is at Clickbank. If you go through their product list, you’re going to find some that are for niches that you probably know little about and have very little competition. By then going to Google and seeing how many competing sites there are for this product, you can determine how difficult a time you’re going to have selling it. Naturally, you will also want to check on the daily searches as well.
The second key is to keep your pulse on what’s going on in the world around you. The Internet is not static. The news stories change daily. The hot celebrity of today is tomorrow’s old news. Technology itself changes at lightening speed. When a new and better way to do something comes out, this usually creates an opportunity to take advantage of that niche. Look what YouTube did for video marketing. That’s a whole new area with tons of potential.
Finally, there’s good old fashioned research. Yes, it’s time consuming. Yes, it’s tedious. Yes, it’s not a lot of fun and at times can be boring as heck. But there is still nothing like sitting down, thinking of an area of interest that you’d like to check out and going to Wordtracker to see how many people are interested in this particular topic. Then go to Google and see how many competing sites their are. Then go to Clickbank and see if there is a product already selling. I’ll stop here because I don’t want to bore you to tears.
