Can You Still Make Money Flipping Web Sites?
Filed under: Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money Online; Tagged as: flip sites, flipping sites, flipping web sites, site flip, site flipping, web site flippingNo CommentsThis has been one of my closely guarded secrets for a long time…site flipping. The reasons don’t matter. But with all the questions I see everyday about this practice, I felt a need to finally respond to them. It seems many Internet marketers think there is no more money in site flipping. Well, maybe for them. But the problem is more with execution than with the tactic itself. No, it’s not as easy as it was. But with the right amount of work, you can clean up flipping sites. This article explains.
First thing you have to do is make sure you’re actually putting together a site that people are going to want. It makes no sense to put your efforts into something like underwater vollyball if there is no market. You want to deal with the big niches…health, debt relief, dating and so on. If there is a big demand, you can flip the site, provided you put the work into it. What kind of work?
Well, for starters, you need to get the site professionally designed. Like it or not, how fancy your site looks is going to go a long way to getting it sold. If it looks amateurish, forget about it. It won’t sell. It certainly won’t cell for the kind of money you’re looking for.
Next, you want to load the site up with content. This site has to be ready to go and relevant so that it gets indexed quickly. And don’t fill it up with junk content either. You want each article to be custom made. It MUST be unique and not found anywhere else.
But you can’t stop there. The site has to have something to sell. So you need to create some kind of a product that will go well with the content. It has to be something that is a natural progression from content to sale. It wouldn’t hurt to also include an autoresponder series so that the person can build a list as well. This will add a lot of value to the site. Toss in a free report while you’re at it.
Finally, you need to put together a killer sales page for actually flipping the site. It can’t be any less in quality than if you were putting up a sales page to sell an ebook. If anything, it has to be even better because you’re going to be getting hundreds, if not thousands of dollars for this site…depending on how much work you put into it.
If this all seems like a lot of work, it isn’t. In fact, there is a way to have this done so easily that you’ll be amazed at how easy it is. To get more info, just check my signature.
Point is, there is a lot of money in flipping web sites. You just need to make sure the site is in a niche that is in demand and the site itself is as professionally done, with content and a product to sell, as possible. Get that all together and you can’t miss.

This article was inspired by an interesting thread at the Warrior Forum. The thread was started to invoke some discussion about flipping web sites. Members were invited to share their strategies for doing this. That’s when I got to thinking. Is it REALLY in your best interest to unload a site that you poured your soul into creating? I’m going to look at both sides of the equation and give you my opinion on whether or not you should be flipping web sites depending on how you answer the questions that are to follow.
First of all, let me start out by saying that site flipping isn’t what it used to be. Back in the wild west days, you could flip a site that had no traffic and no income and sell it for a pretty penny. Today, the market is pretty competitive. You need to present a site to your prospects that not only has unique content and a killer product to sell, but one that has a track record. And that’s what got me thinking.
If you’re going to put all that time and effort into creating a site and generating traffic to it so that you can show a profit, do you really want to just let it go for a few hundred or even a few thousand dollars? Well, the answer to that question, in my opinion, depends on your answer to the following question.
What’s your financial situation like? Is this money that you need right away, as in the next 90 days? Or are you in a position where you can sit back and watch this site grow into something substantial? Now, I can’t answer that question for you. Only YOU can. But, it’s something to think about. And here’s something else to think about.
Imagine that each site you flipped generated an income of $500 a month, just within 90 days time. That is certainly not too much to ask of a site with steady traffic coming to it. Now, imagine that you created just one of these sites each month for a year. If you do the math, that comes out to $6,000 a month passive income for all 12 sites. For some people, that’s a full time income.
Will it take some work at the beginning? Sure it will. Nothing worth while comes easy. But isn’t $6,000 a month recurring income better than maybe selling each of those 12 sites for say $1,000 each? Inside of two months of hanging onto them, you can make that much alone.
Again, this all depends on your financial situation. If you need the money right away, flip the sites. But if you can afford to sit on them for a bit and wait it out, that just might be the better option.
At the very least, it’s something to think about.
